My favorite is a houndy bawl. If you run LP its nicve to have a quick chop though. Most of my hounds are squall mouthed though as they all come from Dutch and he has a one of a kind squall that if you heard it you cant forget it. I will probably not get what I like in a mouth LOL but as long as those squallers keep bringing a rabbit around I am content.

Just wanted to show you and let you listen to my hound's voice. You can see where the booming mouth is at!! When his voice opens up it stands the hair on the back of my neck every time.

I like'em all when they are pounding on a rabbit telling which way he is headed. I'm running a 4 dog pack that has a chop, squeal/squall, one with a booming roar, and another that sounds nearly like a rooster crowing

I like females with tenor bawls or rough high pitch chops. Males, in the ideal world, big squall or roar. Also like a big heavy chop mouth.
Guess I should have said I like a variety! I am not a fan of squeaky chop mouths, just a personal preference.

My Hank dog had a long, drawn out bawl as a pup and it will still surface in his trackwork from time to time (he'll bay sometimes when a rabbit squeezes through a fence or hits a brushpile). As he progressed, he shortened his bark, but has an angry, booming mouth that really stands out in a pack. It's probably not the optimal mouth for trialing, as he's really tight and honest with it and I've seen more than a couple dogs lay out some short yips/machine gun chops and steal a strike he had brewing. But I get a lot of people asking which dog it is when he opens up.

Here's a clip from my phone when we were conditioning in late summer (more audio than video here due to heavy growth):

I like 'em all when they sing in harmony. Here is my pack of six a while back. I have added one more young dog that sounds very similiar to one of the males in the video.

When running the cross-country hare, I learned to like a high Yodel mouth. My friend Marshall had a bitch named Dottie that would flat put a drive on a hare and when the race went out of ear-shot, it was always that high yodel of Dottie's that i could hear first coming back on the return circuit. ;)

The only thing I don't like about it is they don't usually carry very well so on windy days or days when they get out there they can sometimes be harder to hear.
