I consider them broke when 20 or more Dogs go off on a deer and they dont go. Luckily most of mine have met and passed that test by now.

Have owned them for 55 yrs. and I consider them broke when they are gone. I have had a few who stayed straight all their lives and I have had them to wait until they were ten yr. to run off-game.

From 6mths when they start till they die is my time span on using collars, i bought them to use therefore they have em strapped on there neck. I also strap mine behind there collars i have seen lots put them in front of there collars,Broke ? I fill like in my mind once they start turning em down, i am on my way.But i really have not had a deer problem for years. With that being said they will probaly pound one out the next time i run.

-- GOOD POINT JIMBO
---I BELIEVE WHEN THEY GET BIG ENOUGH TO CARRY ONE UNTIL YOU BURY IT ,THIS BEST HOUND I EVER OWNED AT LEAST IN MY OPINION DIED AT 9 YRS OLD AND WORE A COLLAR THE WEEKEND BEFORE,HE DIED ON HIS LAST TRIP,,,BROKE,,, IS A RELATIVE TERM,,OFF TRASH,,TO LOAD ON COMMAND ,NO FIGHTING,RETRIVE ON COMMAND,QUITE IN THE KENNEL,LEAD,NO CLIMBING,NO EATING THE FENCE,HUNT WHERE YOU WANT HIM TO NOT WHERE IT WANTS TO HUNT,IN OTHER WORDS WITH YOU,,THERE ARE MANY MORE THINGS YOU CAN TEACH A HOUND WITH A COLLAR THAN IS MENTIONED ,TRASH BREAKING IS JUST THE MOST COMMON IT SEEMS.I KNOW I HAVE HAD MY SHARE OF IT .

If a man shuts his ears to the cry of the poor, he too will cry out and not be answered
