How to create jobs, grow the economy, slow inflation, and get independent again.


I don't really want any republican or democratic bashing, or blame games. The truth is we are already here in the whole. I would just like to see if anybody has any ideas on how to get out. I have my own ideas, that if you give a millionaire a million dollars he's not gonna spend any of it because he don't have to, but if you give a hillbilly like myself a million dollars I am gonna spend it. Plain and simple.


I think that all of our money would be better spent on infrastructure, such as roads, and I don't mean taking 3 years to straighten out a 1 mile stretch of road, dams to create electricity which we are certainly gonna need, bridges which are failing inspections all across America and getting a 3 million dollar patch job to make it till next year.

We HAVE to get manufacturing jobs back in this country. Blame NAFTA, Clinton, Bush 1, Dudwa.What ever. We gotta get jobs back. Don't know how this will happen, we are so indebted to China that I think the politicians are afraid to impose any tarrifs or taxes on their imports. Obama doesn't have a clue either.

Green jobs are not the answer, not now anyway. All that green thinking is way to far out there to be of any help right now. We've got coal, natural gas and oil we need to mine, drill etc. Build more nuke plants. I live in the rust belt , we have acres and acres of old mill sites that could be used to build manufacturing plants on. Lets use what we have NOW!

Buy American. I know this is almost impossible to do, but try. Also try to stay out of Walmart and the big box stores as much as possible. I buy my dog, chicken, rabbit, cat feed and hardware at a small local feed store. We try to buy most of our groceries from a family owned grocery store. I buy my work boots from a family owned shoe store etc. etc. It may cost a little more, but the money is staying local and supporting small buisness.

REGULATION has become big buisness and is strangling our economy. I work in the land developement field . The amount of red tape and paper work for even the smallest projects has become ridiculous. Way too many incompatant, inefficiant government employees reviewing and regulating things that they know little about. Here's a typical comment from a government agency when you call to see how the permits, paper work etc for a project is coming along."Oh we have 20 other project in front of yours. We only work 9-5 and so and so is out this week at a seminar (to learn how to regulate more inefficiently) we'll get to it when we get to it" They do not work for a profit, and have big government retirement plans and health insurance so they could care less if they get anything done or not. In the mean time a building project is being held up. Money is being tied up, interest rates may be climbing, bank dealines are expiring, bad weather is setting in, a contractor has guys sitting around waiting to WORK. Production, not regulation is what fuels the economy! Then once the project gets started its time to wait for the inspectors. Same deal. "Oh you want to pour that footer today, (the only day this week that it is not going to rain) well the inspector can't make it out to check things out so too bad" Drives you crazy!

Obama wants more government, we need to get them off our backs!! at all levels, federal, state, county, township, city.

I Dont Entirely Disagree with the Green Energy level Keep Working at it Some Of it is Good A lot Of the Wind Generators that have been Developed in the northwest ARE creating Jobs and Employing Some BUT to much of it is Going Overseas Not Enough of the benefits are Staying in the local Areas Either..

DE UNIONIZE a lot of these Jobs..kinda Hard to pay a fella $30 an hour just because he Belongs to a GROUP Leave that Part up to the EMPLOYER if the Employer want to HIRE UNION then that Should be HIS/Her choice not any Group Should dictate WHO I HIRE or How Much I pay...As LONG as that PERSON is a U.S. Citizen or legally belongs here Let those that WANT to Work.. WORK..Put AMERICANS back on the JOB. A Decent Wage for a Good days Work..Folks need to learn how to Live Within their means If a person caint Survive on $15 an hour then they need to cut back on Something i Agree that if you have a specialized Skill then you should be compensated for it..But how Specilized is pushin a Wheelbarrow or Runnin a Shovel...
It Dont Matter your Race or Creed Or Skin Color if you are QUALIFIED for the Job then you get to Work What i mean is that If you are a US citizen then you have FIRST choice...We NEED to TRAIN our young men and Women how to make a living. if they AINT willin to Work then they Dont get paid PERIOD...They Wanna Go on Welfare then WORK for it!!!

This is a misguided thought process. If you give a millionaire another million, odds are he will invest it in business. That business will hire people who will begin spending their annual income over how ever many years they are employed. Far better for the economy than one individual spending the million one time and then the effect is gone.

There are two reasons this is not a great solution.

1. Jobs on "infrastructure" are paid for by the government with tax money. If the "job creation" comes from taxes then it needs to be supported by a thriving private sector, which you won't get by raising taxes to pay for the "infrastructure job creation".
2. These jobs are not continuous, they end and then you have some nice roads and dams that nobody will use because they are unemployed again and can't afford the electricity from the dams and don't need the roads to get to work anymore since they are unemployed.

These 2 suggestions you gave are EXACTLY what is currently being done or purposed to be done. How's that working out for getting jobs? It's not.

I know this goes against the grain of those who live class warfare, but the truth is, millionaires are more efficient with a million dollars then the middle class and the poor. That's how they became millionaires. Big Business is more efficient at running a business than small businesses. That's how they got big.

I know it's popular to say that millionaires and big business and wall street are all greedy but they are the reason jobs exist in this country. It's basic economics.

Millionaires invest in a business (so they can make more money, some of it they will reinvest, some of it they will keep), Business hires people to make and sell more goods (so they can make more money, some of it they will use to make more goods, some of it they will pay to investors to keep them investing and for taking the risk, some of it they will pay to employees), employees work so they can get paid (some of the money they will spend, some of the money they will save, some of the money they will invest in hopes of becoming a millionaire.) When they become a millionaire, they move back up to the start of this paragraph.

PS not everyone is good with their money, so they may not make it to millionaire status. They tend to blame the millionaires and big business for the system not working. However, some of them will realize the system isn't the problem and they will start looking to see what the millionaires are doing different and try to duplicate it. If there were more people trying to do what the millionaires are doing rather than complaining about them, there would be more millionaires for the rest to complain about or emulate.

When Government , tries to do things to punish or compete with business or investors it causes job loss, plain and simple.

I have an idea...why dont we all gather together and start an uprising, kill all the leaders, install our OWN leaders and redistribute wealth...uh, no wait....that was tried already in Russia wasnt it??? Didnt work out so well there.

Please guys, if you are so blind that you cannot understand that a FREE MARKET society in the PURSUIT (not guarantee) of wealth is what drives this nation you really need to stop listening to liberal viewpoints and do your OWN research. When you take wealth away from the wealthy (taxes) to give to someone else, the wealthy person cuts back...cuts back on production, hiring, benefits, you name it. OR the alternative is they RAISE PRICES to cover the extra they have to pay in increased taxes....vicious cycle isnt it???



The answer is simple....GET GOVERNMENT OUT of the private sector to the extent that it is now...regulate international commerce with the best interests of the US businesses I agree with, but get out of private business.

Next, eliminate oppressive taxes on corporations and small businesses. LET THE ECONOMIC MACHINE LOOSE.

Cut taxes on the American People so they can put more of what they EARN in their pockets, gas tanks, school clothes, etc.

One MAJOR fix would be to expand DRILLING for our own sources of oil and natural gas...far too long we have been at the mercy NOT of the Arab countries so much as at the mercy of our OWN citizens calling themselves ENVIRONMENTALISTS. These nutjobs have stifled progress in the procurement of energy for far too long.



Thats a good start...Liberals shudder at the thought of what was just written. Goes against their very being.


By the way, suppose you win a 150 million lottery....do you know that before you get a dime the GOVERNMENT will take HALF of it?? And for what? Did the governmet BUY your ticket?? Did the government PICK your numbers for you???

WRONG, What got us to this point are the 545 elected representatives in washington who make ALL of the laws, set ALL of the regulations, put in place ALL of the oversite and so on. Along with a population of people who don't keep themselves informed about what there elected officials are doing and then vote for party instead of principles.
