Diamond has a food out in their "Naturals " line. It's Chicken & Rice- "Extreme Athelete"
It's very high in fat & protein & might be just the thing for some working dogs. It says on the bag it will also work for pups & pregnant dogs.

I agree with a change of food, i like feed with at least 18-20% fat whats your dogs coat like i have a male here that is real slick haired super slick and pretty in spring and summer but in the winter time seems like he loses wait running hard worse than anything else i have, i honestly think mine dont have a thick enough coat for cold weather have to really supplement his feed and keep his house packed tight or he starts looking like he's dead just looking for a place to lay down

the lard is pretty cheap to purchase do you measure out the 3 tbls or just scoop uo the 3 spoons i havent been running very much this winter and been feeding sportmix 24/20 all of my dogs looks good on sportmix but one big male he just looks skinny he didnt look like that when i was feeding JOY high energy i went to buy feed yesterday i was out completly all they had was JOY SPECIAL MEAL its only 12 % fat i might try the lard to see if it works on my big male the price is right at 14.99 a bag lard is cheap it just might work jbjust for fun beagler wrote:we all go through this. try 2 tbl spoons of flaxseed oil you can get it from walmart. or 3 tbl spoons of lard. put either in ther food and see if it makes a difference. i do this during hunting season and works for me
