My New litter!!!!!!! Thanks Everyone (finale Pics)

So far so good. Today is day 3 the remaining pups are doing great. They drink all day long it seems. I've got them in the house. I peek in the whelping box from time to time to make sure all is ok. Put fresh cool water for leah and a bowl full of puppy chow. These pups sure are pretty... I see a hint of blue coming thru that white....hmmmmmm

Hey Joey,

nice litter,We had a litter a few years ago and all the pups seemed to be fine for the first two weeks then one at a time they started to die off, when we took the last two to the vet he said he didn't know what would cause the whole litter to die but someone on here told me that worming them at two weeks would greatly increase the pups survival.But we took the last pup inside the house and started giving it pepto three times a day and feeding it with a syringe cause it wouldn't take the nipple of the bottles,they seem too hard and now she is a great dog ready for the rabbit. but if you decide to sell one holler!! Good Luck!!

Yes now that you mention it I see purple on the toes of thier front paws and also if you look deep into the white its blue or black underneath. So I'm thinking that white will turn into bluetick. Several of the pups are that way.


And I have Nemex II ready to go for them when they turn 14 days old.

I've had folks tell me there is very little you can do to help a pup survive in the first 3 days (of course keeping the whelping box heated is a must). But in the first several days it is really up to the momma dog and nature. I've also heard that if a pup dies in the first couple days it is rarely due to nurishment issues. Typically, it is under developed lungs and there is nothing you can do about it.
Good luck w/ the others....7 is still a big litter and you and the momma will have your hands full!

yeah briarhoppers I think that little runt needed to stay in leah for a extra couple days. I had said the same thing too he must of needed that extra time in her. But the others were done ready to come out and that they did took me by surprise when I found them all.


All are doing great as of this morning. Nice and fat. That Blue is really starting to come thru now.

The third one starting from the left. He's a nice pretty male. He's a keeper so far. Will or should turn into a nice tri-color with blueticking in the white part. Its there hard to see in picture though. First one on the left is a female. I see blue under that white. Well it looks dark under there so I assume it'll turn blue tick. She should be a pretty female too. The 5th one starting at the left of the row is a female she is mirror image of Leah. She's a keeper too. The big male looks like Junie and the 5th one looks like leah. So that is how we are picking them for now. We'll see what they do once they start running around.



Here he is again. this is the front part of him. The one on top. His head is bigger than all the other pups. Should have a nice box shape head.

I've dubbed him " Big Head " until further notice...
