I took off about 3/8 of an inch. All my hunting dogs have their tails docked a bit. Only one of my older hounds doesn't and her tail gets so bad she sits down and licks it towards end of the season.

Two of the pups were born with perfect white tips. I did not dock them. If I did they'd had an all black tail and I didn't want that. Anyway my pups should look very pretty with a nice thick bush white tip tail. I"m a big fan of that. So that was also part of the reason. And since I was snippin dew claws the tails were done at the same time. It was a piece of cake. Once they are older I'll stack them up and you'll see a pretty thick Paint Brush tail on them. The entire underside of the tail is already brown. They have that show dog look to them.

If you go to page 4 of the thread you can see how long the white part use to be. And it was very pointy. I hate pointy looking tails. To me not only does it look good on the pups but it helps prevent bleeding. That is why.

Since this is your first litter out of Junie, how many pups you keeping and selling?? I'm not interested, just curious.

To be perfectly honest with ya. I don't know at this moment. We are going to keep as many as we can. One or two may be headed to a new home. Hopefully a good one that will see to it that the pup will be taken good care for and ran like it ought to be. I'm not their yet. My buddies are taking either 3 or 4 of them. The rest????????????? is yet to be determined.

Their is an older fellow rabbit hunter I know that lives down in St. Gen Mo area. He tried to buy leah off me 3 times already even though I keep telling him she aint forsale.....lol I'm going to give him a female for free if he'll take it. ;)

I am not keeping any. I have no room or I would. Only reason I did this was to help out my friends. They wanted some hunting dogs well I made it happen....

Heck I think it would be fun to start one and sell it as a started pup to someone. I might do that too. I'm thinking bout it.

I have no idea what to expect out of these pups. Its just an experiment really. All I can tell you is that I like how my leah hunts she's a great hunting dog. I'm mostly a gun-hunter just about everyone on this board knows that. I have no idea if these pups will be cut out for trialing I can't answer that question. I can tell you that these pups should be able to bring bunnies around to the gun day in and day out. I owned Leah's Sire and I still own Her Dam. I know how they hunt and all the ins and outs. I had a litter back in 2006 out of them two dogs and I kept two out of the litter started both sold one of them and kept leah. I only did that for fun I sold her litter mate which was just as good for $135 started and gun-broke to a local rabbit hunter. It was all for fun cause I enjoy it. I just might do that again.

I was looking for a stud dog and read on the boards about Junie and said what the heck lets give it a try. Sent bobby a few PM's it was smooth as can be from the start with them guys even though they're from Kentucky... :approve: So here we are today.

My hunting buddies wanted some gun-dogs of their own so they are 9 days old today awaiting them.

Hey its friday I"m stuck in cube world. Sorry for the rambling..........lol

I weighed all the pups tonight and gave them NEMEX II they are 14days old today. All the pups were about 2lbs. I used a digital scale. some were 2lbs 1oz some were 2lb 2oz or 2lb 3oz all in that range. I also clipped their nails on all the pups that was a job right there. 5cc = 10lbs so I gave each pup 1cc of Nemex II Suppose to give it to them again next wednesday per bottle directions.

My favorite pup out of the litter is the one with the sleeve. She is Leah Jr. Her eyes are open now and she likes to cuddle up to your hand. I like that one. She's my pick

The camera can't really pick up the colors to well. But him and another pup their front legs are turning red. Which I think is cool!!! i like that red coming in on them. It should show up better the older they get.

Hey Jimmy and Bobby Vest Junie sure does mark his stamp on his pups!!! I've also got several that look very similiar to Leah.
