I would love it if this thread was focused only on CURRENT events and actions that call for ACCOUNTABILITY for ALL of our government representatives.
Republican, Democrat, Liberal, Conservative, Independent or anyone else. I don't want to hear about past events. We had our chance to hold people accountable for past events and either we did or we didn't. Try to avoid spewing rhetoric and give real world actual facts. Here's an example:
One thing that the current liberals and President ARE going to be held accountable for is THEIR health care tax (I know they call it a bill, but it's just a tax. Read it.) I have already seen in our state, the IMMEDIATE EFFECTS of the health care TAX. This is just the tip of the iceberg, but is an example of reality compared to rhetoric.
1. Sallie Mae which is a large employer here is laying off 2/3's of it's employees permanently. That is a DIRECT result of the Health Care Tax passing.
2. A program that was set up to help lower income people in Indiana afford Health Insurance was stopped IMMEDIATELY once the Health Care Tax was passed. Quite simply, people who couldn't afford insurance in any other way are now without ANY insurance because of this Health Care Tax.
That's 2 real world examples of what has changed since this Health Care Tax was passed. No political rhetoric, just reality.
I will hold anyone elected, Republican, Democrat or Independent for COMPLETELY reversing this Health Care Tax and it's effects in the next election. If they will not go on record taking this position they will not get my vote. Once in office, I will hold them accountable to accomplish this within the first year of being elected. If they can vote this monster in within a year then they can reverse it in the same amount of time.

Re: Accountability
Here in Tennessee the State Gov't has about doubled property tax. My wife called the county tax accessor and asked, why? He told her it came down from the state level. Since Obama took office home and land values have dropped yet they are being taxed at a higher level. I assume the state gov't is preparing for the unfunded mandate handed to them by Obama and his power grab.

As most of you know, the bulk of the bill kicks into effect in 2014. But it's become a common GOP talking point to say that there are 10 years of taxes for six years of spending. The graph above compares what the bill spends with what it raises for each year between 2010 and 2019. What you'll see is that there are two years -- 2013 and 2014 -- when the bill is raising a lot more than it spends. The GOP has painted this as some sort of rank deception. Apparently, saving up before you purchase something is no longer fiscally responsible.
But though the bill won't be spending much in its early years, it won't be entirely absent. For a full list of benefits scheduled to activate in the first year, download this document (pdf). For a full timeline of the bill's implementation, grab this one (also pdf).
I'm not going to list every quick-acting provision here, because it would be redundant. The most genuinely useful of them will be the ability to keep kids on their parents' insurance until they're 26 (that begins six months after the bill passes), the $250 rebate for Medicare enrollees who fall into the prescription drug benefit's "doughnut hole" (the bill eventually closes the hole altogether), and an end to rescission of coverage or annual limits. At the beginning of 2011, employers in the individual and small-group markets have to spend 80 percent of each premium dollar on actual medical care, or they have to rebate the difference. Oh, and the tanning-salon tax triggers in July. Sorry, Mr. Boehner.
As the bill prepares for full implementation, there are some other policies worth pointing out. Many have been concerned that there will be a shortage of primary care doctors to deal with the influx of new patients. Starting in 2010, a variety of new loan repayment and scholarship programs kick into effect. But more importantly, in 2011, the government directly expands primary-care training programs and sends a 10 percent increase in payments to primary care doctors in the Medicare program (which makes being a primary care doctor relatively more lucrative).
You can pick through the policies yourself, and it's anyone's guess whether they'll be enough. But the architects of the bill are thinking about how to build a medical workforce that works with this legislation.----------- That's why the American Medical Association, the American Nurses Association and the American Hospital Association all endorsed the legislation.

PMB, I knew accountability would take away your talking points and throw you into a tizzy. Glad I succeeded. Just to add to my amusement with you, give me the breakdown on how the Health Care Tax is to be blamed on Bush? I await your response with great pleasure.

Re: Accountability
The title of this thread reminds me of John McCain. When the New York Times selected John McCain as the most desirable republican candidate to run vs Obama I knew we were in trouble.
McCain, after voting with the dems on key issues for years, supported open borders, now he finds himself in a close race for his senate seat. Now he is for closing the borders. I hope the citizens in Arizona hold him accountable.

Thats the most salient point in your useless copy and paste...Obambi and his cronies are working to "build" a workforce that works with the legislation, not legislation that works with the workforce....very telling.

The 1st amendment allows the usual liberal narcissistic "I think.." which is how they start all their sentences.
The second amendment protects us from implementing "I think"

Why no response to this? Haven't they given you the talking points on it yet? Nothing to cut and paste?Tim H wrote:Just to add to my amusement with you, give me the breakdown on how the Health Care Tax is to be blamed on Bush? I await your response with great pleasure.
