Gene has a house full of trophys. Does that say anything?

He runs on the Northern Michigan hare circuit and that is the fastest beagles running today. And even on that circuit Gene was supposedly quoted as saying, "For the first hour Casey can get a little rough." Sounds like my kind of cottontail dog and I am trying to find a female out of him now.

I've been trying for 2 years to get a good female from Casey's line to cross with my Striker hounds...From what I have seen of them, they are usually excellent hounds...Tony

I know Gene has another litter due about the beginning of July. Chief X Dolly. I don't know how many are sold yet.

Dawgy, do you by any chance have a number I could reach him with?? Had my best Striker female bred to a son of Casey, but one of my other males contaminated that by hooking up with her before she went out of heat, no good there!!!! Tony

bluegrass i dont if interested but i am in process to breed my female to gene's chief dog she is a grand champion in ukc also qualified for world hunt she is clean and super fast also her pedigree is similiar to chiefs alot of champions doubled up colby hill etc. this female is one of a kind she won eight out of nine hunts in ukc the only hunt she did not win was a cast where nobody won. this dog was not beaten once in a trial in only three months to finish her.

Go to Northern Michigan Hare Association on your search and look under the kennels listing once you get to their web site. Gene and Maurene Byers are listed there or look in someone's old Better Beagling and they are listed as contacts for some of the Michigan trials.

Bluegrass do you or anyone have any of the Striker dogs crossed over to any of the Casey or linebred Paycheck dogs. That is the way I am wanting to go with the Paycheck dogs I have now and might just buy a pup and save time if they were crossed the way I want them. But I am down in Ky. so that is a factor too is trying to get one down here without paying a fortune on top of buying the pup.

Guest, I have a double line bred striker female out of Dale Larsens kennels from Larsens Jackson, direct son from Striker, and Larsens Anna, also line bred from Striker...She will most likely be bred to a direct son of Ogemaw Casey, or I might even go to Gene for breeding...She is due within 45 days to come in, so I could help you then as my dad lives in Kentucky and will be getting pups also...Thanks to all for the replys regarding Gene Byers phone number, I will get in touch with him...Houndsman, is your female AKC also??? If so, I would be interested in a pup this summer or fall...Tony
