they open a new club close by and i was all excited.
we stopped in on one of thier trails. and it was just like matts clip.
man it was painful. but them ol guys was as nice as could be.
even tho they knew i dident run thier kind of dog .
they walked us around thier new club house and runing grounds and even fed us a meal.
i would not mind joining there club if they would give me a key to that 15 acre pen...LOL
good bunch of people i seen the fire in thier eyes just like we do.
i guess they were all old brace guys not a one under 60 or so .
and most of them had wives hosting in the club house.

This is definately not my style of dog but I agree with owl creek those brace guys are really nice and I just was allowed to join the brace club by my house. They have 90 acres and I have run my dogs there 5 times in the last two weeks. I really want to hang out and learn about breeding from these guys to apply to my own breeding program. They must have selectively culled very well to make a beagle do that so why can't I apply that to my program and make the best gun dog I can.

owlcreek...they should give you a key to their training pen....they arn't using it. All jokes a side. Why on earth are these dogs still being bred? Talk about the breed standard......there is no way any one can think this is acceptable.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry watching that. I know it makes my trigger finger itchy, and it does pee me off that they titled it "Beagle Field Trials." Kinda lumps us all in together.

To each his own on these style of dogs. I would like to know how selective they are in breeding this style?? The one hound was actually digging at the scent of the track?? Would these hounds react to a jumped rabbit with aggression and actively pursue?? They are some nice looking hounds in the bunch.

If anyone has any pups from dogs bred like this I am interested in one. I think this style of dogs would be perfect for me to train and run deer with. All I’d have to do is drop my young gun dogs in on this style of dog and pressure break them. All I have to do is drop this slower dog on a deer. Collar up the young dogs, drop them in on the slow dog shock them off if they join the race. Then gather the young dogs up and go pick up the slow dog. Bam, IMHO for me this would be the perfect use for this style of dog shown in the video.

I see nothing wrong with it if that is what you like. Hey at least it wouldn't be hard to find running grounds. You only need to jump one rabbit per day to have all day runnning! As long as they don't pressure him to the hole! LOL! But seriously I am sure those guys love their dogs as much as we do.
