Forgot about Grand Champion Triple T Annie's Thunder. She is now owned by Steve and Matthew Tripplett out of Keyser, WV. Was owned by Dennis Hardy of PA. Tough gyp that can get it done. I think Branko and Indian Hills is the breeding on the dog.

I judged Talkabout RJ and the Thunder dog that I mentioned above one day in a typical late spring 6+" PA snowstorm. Winners pack went to double overtime. With about five minutes left Thunder goes into an overhang that has pallets stacked about 4ft. high. She starts to whine but never gives out any barks to start the clock. Finally myself and the other judge start pulling pallets off the stack and start moving them. We get down to the last few with both dogs watching and the rabbit pops out. Thunder is the first to open. Rabbit takes off running for all he got and dissapears under the snow. Both dogs close in on and it jumps out and goes another three bounds under the snow with RJ on top of it snapping at it. The rabbit made two more attempts to get away but RJ finally got his way and ate it as soon as it popped out of the snow. Thunder won with hunting and handling, because we jumped the rabbit but she put us on to the only one that exsisted that day. And Paul was badged by my partner judging with me who is a PA Conservation Officer, in a joke about paying a fine for his dog killing a rabbit. The only time I saw RJ in the and he ended it before the first check was scored. He ate it within seconds of time coming to an end.

If the Buck dog you guys are talking about is Rhoades Royal Buck that used to be owned by Lamar Rhoades of ohio, then you are right he is one tough joker. He hunts like a wild man and is as fast as they come. I drew out with him last october at the grand nationals in the first round. He won the cast and looked pretty tough doing it. If he was AKC registered I would breed to him in a NY minute.

Adam,
I forgot all about that. RJ never did recieve his ticket in the mail..lol I was pretty happy for Dennis and Thunder that day. That was the day she made Grand, and you don't find any nicer guy than Dennis Hardy.

Jay does own Rhodes Royal Buck.

Just for giggles lets see who can come up with the answer on how many of these dogs are linebred and how many are total out crosses.
I know RJ is linebred so that is the answer to that dog, someone fill in the rest.

Perkins Run N Gun Buzzsaw is line bred on the Northway line, Waylon's Bomb and Swartz Big time, Swartz Little Time and Wells Big Bomber are out of the same line. Big Time and Bomb are out of the same cross, Bomber is actually the result of an outcross. Those are the ones that I am familiar with.

You can tell people talk about the dogs that were campaigned alot. Two of the dogs that I have seen in my time in the ARHA which would have started around 1991 would have to be Littlefoots Brandy owned by Steve Hardy and a patch hound named Shoney owned by Jim Campbell. Both were females and when you went to a hunt and seen these dogs there you pretty well knew what the outcome was going to be.
Those who work the hardest will be rewarded in the end.

I have seen several gooduns but a few come to mind that stand out. These are in no certain order.
1)Skyview Cliff owned by Mark Hatmaker
(Good Solid hound with foot)

2)Hillbillie mack (deceased)owned by Scott Stanley
Turbo powered by Prop breeding, when he was on he was tuff

3)Cody Sharp's Jackson
He was ruff but very hard to beat

4)Murphy's Grey Mouse(Northway)owner Joe & J Murphy
I ran this dog for joe and watched her work a cast over in about 5 inches of snow, like she was tied to it.I seen her take a 2nd on frozen snow,a 2nd in rainy cold conditions, and a 1st in 5" of wet fresh snow all within 3 weeks time.To me very impressive!!

5)Bentley's Julie (Northway) owned by Ronnie & Shawna Bentley
Julie's Motto whatever it takes to win lol

Like i said this is just a few of the good ones ive seen.
Perkins Runnin & Gunnin Kennel
Producing winners both under the gun and in front of the judge!
HOF Reproducer GRCH/BCH Perkins Run-n-Gun BuzzSaw - He might be gone, but his blood flows on!

My experience has just been in the Deep South, but I have seen some very good hounds in competition over the years.

Mitchell's Big Red - Went from Champion to Grand in 3 hunts, winning the Louisiana State and the North American championships back to back a few years ago. Owned by Richard Mitchell. Has now been sold.

Kate - Not sure of the official registered name, but she was owned by Jr. Hebert. I hunted over her many times, and she was an awesome gundog.
Never trialed until she was at least 7 or 8 years old. Won the Lousiana State Championship at around 9 years old.

Branko's Blue Wishbone - Not sure of his record, but I judged this hound and competed against him on several occasions. At a pretty advanced age, he could pound a rabbit with no mercy.

TK's Pocket Rocket - Owned by yours truly. Best gundog that I have ever owned and pretty successful in field trials as well.
