A general forum for the discussion of hunting with beagles, guns, clothing and other equipment and just talking dawgs! (Tall tales on hunting allowed, but remember, first liar doesn't stand a chance)
I just saw the results where this dog is the sire of every dog that placed in the 15" male class. Is this amazing or what! is that whot you mean when you say producer Gotta get me some
I posted on this site more than a year ago that I believed that Reggie could very well turn out to be a great reproducer along the likes of Branko's Jack of all Trades,The Elms Jiggs Maggie's Mate,Able's East Coast Trimmer,Branko's Heli-Prop and Maravic's Blue Ninja.Check it out dudes and dudettes,ALL of these famous top performers AND top reproducers are in Reggie's background. It comes as no surprise that he is what he is and can reproduce quality to boot.
I own 2 Reggie bitches and another bitch from his littermate brother Turbo Charged Thunder Blue and I won't price em.
South Ky trial results--all 5 placing hounds in 15' males sired by Reggie.Has that ever been accomplished before?
Reggie is still at public stud I raised the stud fee a while back to $300 and that has cut back on his breedings but has improved the quality of the female that some one is willing to pay that for.Thats what its about quality not quantity.Give the ol man a shot bring your best he wont disappoint you.Tomorrows Legend Today Thanks Terry
At South KY there's never been five from the same sire or same dam to ever all place in one class. Congrats to the owner, you can say you've done a first at South. :-) As for the rest of the MIdwest I honestly can't say, but would put more money against than for. However I would have to say I would be that FC Short's Pro, IFC Melanson's Ranger Ran, IFC Speedy Sport, and IFC Armando's Levi has had offspring to do so in the areas where their offspring has primarily been ran.
When I see feats such as five in the same class, the first question I always ask is what percentages are they? Namely how many pups are there actually out there of that dam or sire. Take into example the UBGF guys continuously brag on how many champions Pro has produced, but they always want to ignore how many actual litters he's sired.
This isn't a knock on any particular dog in general, but when you have 200 to 300 litters out of a dog and only have 5% or 6% in the particular registry you prefer, placing or finishing then in all honesty can we call them producers? I call dogs like IFC Maravic's Blue Ninja and FTC Branko's Jack Of All Trades producers based on their percentages, which namely broke down to at least one pup per litter finishing. Nevertheless with such stated when basing on percentages one must take into consideration that several of the pups any particular stud produces never make it to a trial.
Anyhow congrats to the owners that placed and won in 15" males and as well to the owner of the sire. Hope to see you gents back again next year.

When the moment of truth arrives, the point of preparation has passed.
Old School, Full Throttle ,No Bottle.
It's also amazing that the winner was a 2010 Derby ( year & a half old). Lucky is an awesome looking dog also; out of two blueticks ( Reggie & Blue Sue) and he hardly has a tick on him. He must have took after his grandsire on the dam's side , FC Brent's Prime Time. Congrats to the Reggie hounds; a lot of great hounds in his pedigree; no wonder he's producing winners. Good luck Chimney Rock the rest of the way with Lucky. Greg

We have bred 2 females to Reggie (Tucker's Oreo Cookie & Wells Woods Blue Sue). Out of both litters we kept 4 pups. 3 of these pups we have trialed, the other one is a small female and we don't trial small hounds. All 3 of the pups we have trialed have wins and places in AKC Mid-West. 1 of them made ARHA Grand Rabbit Champion and ARHA Bench Champion at 25 months old , another one is ARHA Rabbit Champion, and the other one has his win ARHA also just needs 10 pts to be champion. And i'm sure if the little female we got was entered in the 13" females they are going to know she's there. But most importanly, all 4 of these pups are gun dogs that will bring the rabbit to the gun.
I can't speak for the rest of the pups Reggie produced but he reproduced 100% for us. I have seen some Reggie pups that i would not feed and i'm sure Terry Gray will tell you the same thing, is that Reggie's fault, the bitch's fault, or the owner's fault, who knows? I believe if you breed a NICE bitch to Reggie the chances of getting nice pups are better than getting junk.
