I have a four year old 16" male that has a lot of "Sock It To Me " breeding. He's as good as they come! Brains, Nose, Desire, Conformation.
He is open marked with ticking. Big voice also. I will show him in the field.
His mother has Sock It To Me top and bottom, and his sire is FC Brent's Prime Time , whose dam was out of Sock It To Me. Stud Fee $100. He is too big for field trials , else he could have been a field champion in my opinion. He is not for sale. Should anyone be interested my email is wellsp@prtcnet.org.

Actually Bruners Fanny was bred by Bobby and Allen Vest. They own Chester and used to own Bruner's Lynn. That cross was made only twice and every dog out of those litters where way above average. The ones that were competed made field champion with no problems.

Will,

I second that. I'm still kicking myself for not getting a pup out of that second cross a few years ago when Allen told me about them. I do have two male pups out of Fanny and male out of Ben. They're 10 months old fresh out of an enclosure and run like old dogs. I'm impressed.

BJK,
Talk about kicking yourself. I used to own one out of Fanny's litter. Vests Tipper. She was an awesome hound. I got out of beagling a few years ago I was giving her to Allen and Bobby to trial. One of our friends came up here and killed all his dogs on the trip. They overheated. We ended up giving her to him. Talk about sick know. Tipper will always go down as one of my best all time young dogs. She didnt have the experience that Fanny had at the time. But I dont know if Earl hadnt put her through a good gunseason if she wouldnt have been the best one of the litter. She is a real good looking dog and was has true as they come. The guy that has her doesnt trial at all anymore and just uses them for gun hunting. She could Champion with no problems she is that good.

Take it easy.

Will,

I was going to buy Fanny, Ricky Mason said she out ran everything he had. Then one weekend he and I were in the final cast at a hunt in NJ. She edged me out, won and made champion. I got second. She was no longer for sale. Two bad breaks in the same day! lol! :(

Greg,
That is a reoccuring theme I've been told in the Sock it to me line. They will go over 15" frequently. Makes it nice if you are trying to add some size back to your dogs though. I've been to Bobby Rose's place several times and bought a few dogs from him and that was what he had told me.
If I remember right he had a male there at one time that ran over 15", but I don't remember the dog's name. It's too bad he got out of beagles, but I talked to him last week and he's still having fun with hounds, coonhounds that is, but said he may get back into beagles some day. I hope so, he was a credit to the sport and the breed. :)
The Blue Banks Pleaser dog looks like a fine hound. I'd love to see him run. ;)

Yes, Bobby seemed like a real nice guy. I didn't get a chance to see any of his dogs run though other than FC Shroader's RJH Slammer. She was my type of hound. From what I've seen from "Sock it to Me" dogs; they have a lot of hunt , line control, chop mouth, and great conformation. I've crossed this line with some Branko to get a little more competitive spirit for trials. My 16" male, Wells Woods Bullet, is the best I've bred so far. He will be used in my breeding program in the future. I do wish he was an inch smaller; funny thing I have a 13" female littermate to him. She's a good one too.
About FC Blue Banks Pleaser, he was a good one! His mother was a littermate to my FC Brent's Prime Time's mother. Time and Pleaser ran the same style; hard and fast with smooth line control. They both finished quickly in the Mid-West where the competition is extremely tough.

Greg, just wondering the bitch line of your "wells silver bullet is? What does he run like, style, voice and age.

WELLS WOODS BULLET

Post by GREG WELLS »

His dam is Wells' Stylish Tramp (Blue Bank's Big Chance X Gay's Spring Creek Robin). Big Chance was out of Waiska River Maximum Effort ( IFC Taylor's Sock It To Me x FC Colby Hill Flora) and Waiska River Flakers Flow ( FC Northwoods Spotty Sam x FC Northwoods Nubian Flakers).
Spring Creek Robin was out of IFC Branko's Heli-Prop ( FTC Branko's Jack of all Trades x Branko's Speedy Devil) and Elk Creeks Amazing Grace ( IFC Taylor's Sock It To Me x Camp Creek Gertrude).
Stylish Tramp was outstanding, but due to an injury wasn't trialed. She was extremely fast with a lot of hunt and brains. Could have used a touch more nose if I had to fault her in any way. Bullet has all the qualities Tramp has with Prime Time's big nose. He has one of the loudest mouths I've ever heard on a beagle. He's 4 years old and and he's the only dog I've had that I could run with Prime Time at a young age and hold his own without getting rattled (brains).
Now he makes it hard on the old man at times.

Greg,
Bullet is a good looking dog. Good looking pedigree as well.
You only live a little over three hours from me. I may be paying you a visit in the next year or so.
