I think most houndsman assume they are familiar with the antics of advertising, and veterinarians, however what we are talking about here is not just as simple as reading the weights and dosage amount and cutting it down to a "assumably safe" safe amount for an animal it's not intended for. The forumals in the active indgredients are made for that specific animal that is why it's called equine, cattle, goat, swine wormer. There is a bit of science i'm sure that goes into it. when you are worming you're dogs with "redneck doses" of cattle , equine, swine, and goat wormers, you are taking a toll on there organs mainly kidneys, and liver over the course of a dogs life recieving this stuff on a regular basis for the course of 7-8 years is going to take it's toll on some of the key organs of you're dog, b/c the formula of the wormer is not designed for the dog you are giving it to. I don't care you guys do what you want with you're dogs, but I'm telling you facts. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink. Drontal for dogs is a wormer made for dogs, in the correct doses that is going to be safer and easier for you're dog than you're guestimation figuration of a smaller dose of a wormer made for an animal with a different body system and is about 1,000-2,000lbs heavier than you're dog is. I'm sorry fellas, it seems like a smart idea yeah, but it really ain't if ya think about it......The product you're using is tested on horses to be safe and is safe for horses.. not dogs....there is a reason behind that. and the reason is it's A HORSE WORMER NOT A DOG WORMER, not to mention AGAIN it's a completely different type of tape worm, which is propably going to require a different amount of active ingredients to kill.....you might as well be slowly poisoning you're dog. Call me a sucker, hippy, or whatever you want, but go ahead and ask team fudd i scrape every last penny i have to pay bills, put gas in my truck, raise my daughter, keep a roof over my head, and care for my dogs, but at least I can say they are eating right, and recieving the proper care and maintenance they are entitled too for what they do for me. this is just a fair warning for those of us who may read what you're putting up about these livestock wormers, and think it's 100% okay to do for there dogs b/c it is'nt, to the rest of ya Good Luck hope it suits ya

. do what suits you, but don't suspect i'll be buying a 4 year old dog from you b/c Lord knows how much longer it may live....This might be something to consider when buying an older dog !!!!! What kind of quality of life has this dog has before you aquired it ? Someone pays 5 or 600.00 bucks for a NICE broke dog 4 or 5 years old, and it lives to be 7 b/c it's organs are shot.......ouch i'd be pretty upset but it's a good deal for the seller

they saved money on womer, and got rid of the dog for top dollar before it died .
