OHL- for 75 bucks you could get the 1000mg cattle safeguard and its only 49 bucks at trackter supply.... sorry I call BS on this one- you could worm 100 dogs with that.... "the redneck way" I have used it for nearly 8 months on three beagles and rott and haven't used one 17 dollar tube of the horse paste /liquid goat wormer yet... Nore have I had a dirty stool in my vet checks and I did with drintal plus... the medicine doesn't stay in the system long enough all of the time to get the whips...

Show me one vet report of worms in the stool of dosing with pancur (safeguard for dogs) the correct way and show me a dirty stool or evidence that it isn't the 98.9-100 percent efficacy on the clinical trial.... which if you look at drontal plus efficacy its only around 93-98 pecent efficacy depending on the animal and the type of parasite...

so lets recap-

1. safeguard- same thing as panacur for dogs
2. 100 times cheaper than drontal plus
3. Safer by a factor of over 50!!!
4 More effective (except one species of tape)
5 Used on more animals- seals, cattle, rabbits, dogs, cats, fish-
6. TOXIC TO some birds BIRDS AND reptiles

I don't care what you do or use but to spout off crap you know nothing about is stupid and puts false information people depend on here at this site.... if you don't know don't post or at least admit you were wrong or back it up with science

Here is the science-

Mobeagler,
What part of I'm done with this post did'nt you get it ? you're still calling me out directly my phone number is 3309875883 i really don't want to get into a pissing match with you specificaly on this board. I will say this you should go get a job for safeguard and do there science for them, and have the Equine removed from the label, but I'm betting you will find that you have to change the amounts of the ingredient to make it market-able (word check?) lol for dogs. B/c as it stands now it's not. I'm telling you from experience quite a few years back ago it was not 7.99 a tube it was in the 20-25 dollar range at TSC (tractor supply company) i'm going to guess that the reason it went down in price to b/c people were buying it using it and finding out how ineffective it really is so they made it cheaper to keep people buying and trying it and hoping for the best. A buddy of mine told me safeguard would get all worms if you put a quarter size dab on the back of there tongue once a day for 5 days straight so i did. I had 3 dogs and one tube did one dog for 5 days. You can say what you want and act how you want on this board but i garuantee you don't act that way in person or talk to people that way in person same for you gwyoung. I will tell you how it is in person or not. Safeguard don't work on dogs with a worm infestation. My dogs were shitting worms again 3 weeks later. BOTTOMLINE. I got mad and went to the vet they gave me drontal one tablet for each of my 4 dogs. The worms were gone. I don't know hwy i let the owner of the dog supply store i shop at talk me into trying valbazen b/c i am having the same darn results with that as i did with safeguard he told me to us 1cc/1ml per 10 lbs on my dogs 3 days in a row and then hit them again exactly three weeks later with one dose of the same amounts. I've been fighting worms for the past 2 months with valbazen I just ordered drontal again and guess what?? the worms are GONE. i WILL stick with what works not what YOURE science says b/c safeguards science says it's for horses, goats, etc...not dogs. There is a reason for that like i said. If somebody could make a wormer that was effective for every worm for every animal they would have put it on the market to trump all these other brands out there, b/c it would be the most marketable product available for everyone. It does'nt exist and it definitley is'nt safeguard or equimax. I'll stick to what works for my dogs! Frontline & promeris, drontal (plus). I breed, train, trial, hunt, and sell beagles. I'm expected to sell healthy dogs that live a quality life in conditions and recieve the correct care. Saving money is'nt my biggest priority. My reputation is. I know that is besides the point but that is why i will stick to what is recommended and MOST of all EFFECTIVE. I'm not going to poison my dogs with a cheaper guestimated version. Please feel more than free to call me if you would like to debate this anymore I'm not interested in being addressed personaly on this board anymore or personaly addressing anyone else if you have a bone to pick with me do it PLEASE DO SO PRIVATELY. Same for you gwyoung.

gwyoung, I was in fact the entire time we have been on this ungodly long debate over wormers speaking about drontal plus. I dont really know of anyone using plain drontal anymore but I should have specified that it is the plus variety so if anybody has any doubts when I am speaking of drontal it is drontal plus. I just looked at chip eisenhuts site and he sells it for 2.75 a pill if you buy fourty. I still feel that is pretty darn cheap to treat a hound for worms for eleven dollars a year. I did read that some guys have not had 100% success with it, I am only speaking from my experience and it has been a positive one, by all means everyone out there use whatever you are most comfortable giving to your hounds and we will all live with our decisions. It is good to see that everyone involved in this debate obviously cares about their hounds or yall wouldnt get so worked up about it. Thank you for all the pms regarding these posts, it is obvious others are having the same success as I. Good luck and good runnin!

I didn't get the fact that you still responded to my last post and the fact you are still currently debating me over something you won't even research....

HOW BOUT THE NEXT TIME YOUR DOC GIVES YOU SOME PENICILLIN DO US A FAVOR AND TELL HIM YOU DON"T WANT ANY BECAUSE AFTER ALL, THEY USE THAT CRAP ON DOGS....

THE SAME DRUG IS MARKETED TO MOST BREEDS OF ANIMALS---- ITS DIFFERENT DOSES- AGAIN LIKE PENICILLIN-

I don't doubt you probably had a dirty stool, lying about would be stupid- I think you didn't give the right dose because its 100 percent effective against most parasites and 97 against whips and heavy infestations.... or you miraculously got a bad tube but when you go online telling people its not the same stuff and it doesn't work you make yourself both an uneducated liar and a bafoon...

I got nothin against you buddy, I look at scientific evidence and draw conclusions from it.... Not one licensed vet in the country or chemist or FDA or even the makers of the drug will say its, A ineffective and B not the same drug.. and finally C that you would have to change the chemical composition of the drug to market it... you change the dose already in the bottle due to weight and stomach capacity to absorb and metabolize the drug--- all the would have to do is slap a dogs face on the bottle and say use less of it...

you keep talking aobut over dose, show me ONE DOG, ONE DOG who has EVER overdosed on safeguard-

Ps. You would be surprised at what I will say to a persons face.

LOl maybe i would be suprised  doubtful but it's possible, and it's possible that worming you're dog with safeguard is all you will ever need. Good luck to anyone who tries....It does'nt matter to me just trying to help people from steering the wrong way.

teamfudd, That makes you 100% correct in my opinion. It is an easy mistake to make and If I would of had my thinking Cap on I would have caught where you mis-spoke. Didn't think of it until someone posted the drontal plus ingredients, once again, sorry.

Ohlinger, you know as much about me as you do wormers! Your guarantee of how I act in person or public ,is about as valid as your guarantee on wormers, You don't know me , and have never seen me in person or how I act in public. You are the darndest person I ever have seen about giving Guarantees about something you know absolutely nothing about. I would be strongly suspect about any of your guarantees. You said earlier you were done with me and then brought me back into your rant, Makes me suspect about anything you say period!
