The bulk probably comes from the fact there is separate batteries on the collar for the shock and the gps.... That kinda scares me... Way more stuff to break under the heavy use of a dog... but who knows. I bet the encasing is topnotch.

Like everybody else, I want to hear some reviews. If they are good, I will have my SD-2500 (6 collars) and my Garmon (3 collars) up forsale! :D

Ya, the garmin platform is second to none as far as hand held gps... sure hope Sportdog did their homework or it could be a crippling decision for their company. So far, I can't say enough good things about the customer service they have provided me over the last few years.. doubt I will ever switch just cause of that...

369 for an extra collar, I run 6/10 hounds at a time ,would break me up . I`d have to sell the house just to keep collars.

Talked to Steve Snell from gundog supply.
He has been testing it over a month now and will have a full report withing the next couple of weeks.

Pros:
2 second update
Rising stimulation
Can program same collar for different dogs that need diff. power levels
Rubberized collar, very durable
Replacement parts including collar strap will be available
After 10 hours of use, automatically slows down update to save battery life(programmed to assume after 10 hours the dog is lost)

Cons:
No map feature, just where the dog is, how far, and direction
12 oz. collar( remember though it is a shocker and GPS all in one)
With the rubberized collar, no way to fasten name tags
Price, basically $700 for one collar and hand held, $350 per extra collar (again though, both a shocker and gps)

I asked him if he could only have one, the garmin or the sportdog, (he is a big garmin believer) which would he choose, he said the sportdog!

You are probally right but from tri tronics if they say 7 miles it will probally not work at 200 yards. Saw one these units on ebay for 379.00 it was a pre order and said you would recieve it sometime in july.

The tracker/trainer combo will be what I replace my new TT trashbreaker set with someday down the road. I am in no hurry to get a new unit and I'd rather wait for the bugs to get worked out first............and for the prices to come down too.

Does it have a tone button and can the tone be used with multiple dogs up to the max #?

Was saying if TT came out with a system like this it would not hold up to the range they say it will or it will unpair itself on its own.Thought everyone was aware of all the problems with TT.As for the unit on ebay it was the sportdog model tracker/shocker for that price. Hope this clears it up for ya.
