I am with ted on the subject about menbers liking the same type of dogs. That and people being over competitive with each other brakes up clubs really quickly If you can controll the jealously you can have a great club. GOOD LUCK in every way!!!!!

Ted,
I did have a Sy female, but I sold her as well as most of the pups that came out of her. I still have the one pup out of her and it is in Donnie's kennel, if she turns out pretty good, she will be trialed and then possibly breed her back into a Linebred Sock it to me male I bought out of FC Blue Banks Pleaser.
One of the pups out of my Sy female and a linbred Sock it to me male went to Suzette Sayre. She won the UKC World last year, she thought it would be a good cross. Another gentleman that got one of the pups said that his pup is already starting on rabbits at 3 months old. She's making wonderful progress. He frequents these boards and if he is so inclined I will let him describe her progress, since he is seeing it first hand and spending a lot of time with her.
I will be switching to almost straight Sock it to me linebred stuff with some of the Briar patch blood or whatever they call it that Big Dog and Darrin G. run. Seems like some tough stuff and may make for some outstanding outcrossings. I also like some of the Mikerma's Superdog blood being splashed in there.

In September, October and November I will be going to as many ARHA LP trials that I can. I'll be heading to the club in Albany Ky, Philadelphia, Tn. and Ben's Knob, NC for sure. I'll probably hit a few others that I can't think of right now, but I believe you mentioned. I'll be bringing a couple of young pups to get them use to the trial atmosphere. I may go to the club in Cookeville too.

I'll just have to see if the trial thing is for me personally. I know I look forward to seeing some of my friends from this board at those trials.
Take care. :)

Sounds good to me redsrule. I'll need directions on how to get to the clubhouse.

I enjoyed the chat.

Well I wasn't gonna coment in this thread as I live a far cry from TN. I'm way up here in Northwest PA. But since Bopeye sorta gave me an invite I will say that I'm the fella that made the 7 hour trip down to purchase my newest addition. It already seems it was worth the trip.I put at least one hound (sometimes 2 or 3) down every evening for a few hours to run.So when I got Molly home naturally I let her tag along with me just to get used to the whole scene.Of course she tried to go on the chase but being so young she would only get to the edge of the thicket and come tearin' back to me for some play time.Within a week or so she was gone for longer and longer stays with the hounds till one time a couple weeks ago I swore I heard her give a couple little yips while my 7 month old was tearin' up a rabbit. So the next day I took her down to my training pen with my old puppy trainer.I didn't expect much as she wasn't quite 3 months old yet.But her first time in there my old hound jumped one and it ran right by Molly.Well she took off on sight chase just a chopin' away. When the rabbit hit the thicker stuff she didn't miss a beat. Her nose went to the ground and she stayed after it for another 30 yards or more till it checked her then the old dog caught up and straightened her out.Did this for two more days with the old dog. Then the next day it was just her and me.It took her a a while, maybe 20 mins. or so but she finally jumped one and the race was on.I soloed her in the pen for a few more days and she improved more every day.So now I'm givin' her some time outside the pen with my 7 month old which I have been trainin' hard for a while now. This 7 mo. old is no slouch either but Molly is keepin' right up with her and has even took a few checks from her.The thing I like about Molly is she doesn't give a bunch of extra mouth. My 7 mo. old will start with a bunch of them little yips before she opens which I can live with as I don't do any trialing yet.But Molly don't do that. When she starts with her little fast chop mouth,I know the rabbit is up and movin'.I guess that'll be enough bragin' for now..lol..but I would like to thank James for sellin' me what I think is gonna be a great little hound.I entered her peds on the world ped. site if yuns want to see it look under Molly McGee V that's all for now. ketch yuns later, Pat, from Pennsyltucky ;)

Pat, If he progresses at a good pace and I get a good gun season on him this coming winter, we'll see at that time. So far, so good.

Hey Bopeye , you can come up to KTV to our hunt but( bring a slow dog) our dogs are all old , fat and slow no cutting or slashing or quick feet or speed here. Be careful going to some of those clubs , I'm not starting nothing, but I would watch some of those middle Tennessee guys.

Pat put it a whole lot better than I could have. Hope she continues to do well for you Pat. You are definitely putting in the time with her.:D

I bet if Jack doesn't become a champ, it won't be because Darrin didn't give him the time and effort. I'm glad Jack is with you Darrin. ;)

tnbeagleman, says to bring an old, fat, slow dog to the trials there. Hmmmm.........and if I do, can you guarantee me a win?
Send me a PM or something tnbeagleman on how to get to your club and maybe even a couple upcoming trial dates and I'll do my best to come there as well. Thanks for the invite.

Red, I still have your number, both home phone and cell phone. I'll see you at your club as well. :)

Now don't you guys go getting mad at me if I don't make it to your club this year, if I don't I'll make it next year if the Lord is willing. Us poor boys still got to stick within a budget as well as keep up with our honeydo list. ;)

I do appreciate all the invites, I really do and I'll come to as many trials as I possibly can.

right now i'm doing alot of leg work and old Bopeye going to alot of trials this yr and i'm going to try to make a few myself when ever possible.
Show us the ropes guy's and we will do our very best to make it fun for all.
