If I had a hound for sale for 4 grand, I darn sure wouldn't wait a whole weekend before I called back! That's what frosted my a**. No hard feelings though! Just saved me some money that's all. Nick
No skin off my back. You're the one missing out on a once in a lifetime hound. If this was my hound he would not be for sale. I wouldn't care if I trialed him or not he would die in my kennel, I just can't afford him. He is as good as they come, bottom line. Anybody looking for a foundation hound should call these guys up.
Dry Creek Kennel-Bred to get it done where it counts the most "under the gun".

No need to get your panties all bunched up! I'll let you in on a little secret, I have gone and looked at several so called "hounds of a lifetime" Nearly all of them were not as advertised. Not saying ya'lls wasn't as stated, but I will tell you, I had cash in hand and was willing to travel to see him. I sure don't want to let the "hound of a lifetime" pass me by, but it sure was bad business not to return a call ASAP, especially for the price being asked! And I have heard all the excuses about spending family time, losing service, etc. Bottom line is he talked to at least 1 person that I know of after I called in the AM. They still have land lines available I am sure, if his service was lost. I really don't want to get into a pissing match over this, I appreciate a good jump dog/rabbit hound, and for the most part I would pay good money to get something as good as I once had! They don't come around that often! Another thing I have learned through this ordeal is I am selling my dogs too cheap!!!

This is not to add to the fire AT ALL. I went and hunted with Coal and I have dogs that do okay in the hunt department and he put on a CLINIC of rabbit jumping!! I saw him jump at least 12 to 15 by himself with my female and another female all over him. It was as if a magnet was drawing him to them, no joke. He has impressive jump power with ANY and all hounds I have ever seen. He would be at my house if my financial situation was just a little more stable right now. I am lucky enough to have a litter coming off of him, literally, any day and my female is as big as a house!!! I don't think I went wrong with what I wanted to add to my line of hounds. Good luck with him guys!

Amazing the sense of entitlement a person gets with $4,000 in hand. That's really not that much money. I guess the guy should have cancelled the family vacation to return the call. I mean seriously, if your interested in purchasing such a hound, what difference does a couple days make in the middle of June? "I want it NOW or I dont want it" sounds like a 2 year old........ :loser:

Think what you want, why would you sell a hound like that if you didn't need the money? Myself I would have made that 1 minute phone call on my wedding day if I had to! I think the "family" would have understood. Doesn't take much time at all. And no, $4000. is not alot of money if it's something you want bad enough. Don't know why everyone has an opinion now on this, I have talked to the guy and there is no problem. And yes I do want it NOW, in June! I wouldn't want the hound of a lifetime to slip through my greedy little 2 y.o. fingers!! Thank you for your input.

LOL. Great dog, and he is worth the money if you're a serious houndsman. As far as needing the money LOL who could'nt use the money these days ? LOL, but I'm pretty sure that is'nt why they are selling him. they turned down more than what they are asking for him now, 2 years ago.

I was done with this back on the 12th! You boys must be bored to keep bringing it up! But hey, at least the post is staying at the top!! As I stated I have no issues with Kevin, his hound, or my decision not to pursue the hound. So as far as I'm concerned I am just replying to statements made by his "friends" to let you see the whys and whatfors. Not once have I defamed or belittled him or his hound, just stating what took place. Last time I checked I'm still allowed to make my own decisions, and I wanted to move on this dog quickly to avoid losing it! After not hearing back I sort of lost interest, came back to reality! Maybe. So as it stands now I am over the initial want phase. I'm not interested in buying the dog now. But you boys can keep on replying! I enjoy it in the early am waiting to go to work!
