There are some GREAT hounds behind Luke, but be prepared for a hard hitting hound. He should suit the Midwest Association just fine. Those Otterbrook hounds are the toughest hounds on earth!

The other Luke The Drifter is out of Spicers Blueback I think..The Fareast Luke The Drifter dog is a littermate brother to our Farest Singing Ranger dog. They are out of Scooters little Chief who is out of Otterbrook Topdog

Thanks for the info, it was the blueback bred hound that I was talking about. I know that he belongs to the Orwieler kennel in OH. I think they only run blueback dogs, but wasnt sure.

What color is that Luke the drifter dog?The reason I ask is that I either saw him or something out of him run down in Russell Springs a few years ago.The one I was in a cast with was a big pretty red hound that could do it all.A guy from Middlesboro owned him.

I dont know what color he is, but it could have been him. I know a guy named Jay hershberger from northern OH. owns a son out of him and is tearing up the lp. trials. I really like most of the blue back bred dogs I have run with, and i am going to breed in this direction. There is a dog named Cody's blue bogus here in southern OH. out of blue back, and spicers ginger(both world hunt winners), that has not been trialed much, but can do it all, I dont care what kind of dog you like, this dog would impress you.

I think the guy that owned this was named William Barton. He was beautiful, big and fast but would grub when he needed to.One of the more impressive hounds I have seen in nearly 11 years of trialing.

Luke the drifter was a nice looking tricolor hound out of Spicer's Blueback and I forget the female (sorry). He is on my rabbit hunting video. Big mouth, nice track dog, but lacked hunt, and could be independent. He was hit by a car and killed while running a rabbit. If you would like more info please feel free to call me. Also, if you would like to breed to a male out of blueback I may have what you are looking for ;) Have a nice day.
