IT'S HERE!!! FEB 16 Log on until 10pm EST

Post by Bev »

Are we going to try and break that 2010 record of 141 people logged in at once? We tried in 2011, we came close, but we couldn't get it done.

WAIT - Chad Blair just pointed out that we broke it last Sunday and I didn't even notice it. The record is now 145. Do we try and top that?

If you want to try and break the record, put it in your calendar - maybe 9pm EST. You don't have to be sitting in front of the computer; just have one of your browser windows logged in to the message board.

But if you want to make it a live thread, we can decide on a topic and at 9pm Feb 16, say "Go." We will debate the subject to make it more fun. Feel free to suggest topics for debate in this thread, but don't start the debate yet. Save your comments for the night of the record-breaking attempt.

What say ye?

Good idea Bev. See you there. Live debate.
Here are some topics I would like to see addressed.

1. Beagling a dying sport?
2. Big topic always on this board-Measuring.

Awww, thanks, Chad! But if you think about it, it's been ten years of this particular "version" of the board. I had the original board online in May or June of 2001, right after the sale of ARHA, so the beaglers would have a place to communicate. It was unsure what would happen to the ARHA board.

It was this place (and the members) who supported my decision to start The American Beagler in 2001, (the name of the magazine came from member suggestions) so there would be a place for the trial results to be printed since it was also unsure what would happen to The Rabbit Hunter. Del Morgan and Gerald Bailey couldn't come to terms on the cost of publishing the results, so they weren't being published anywhere. I offered to do a newsletter to carry us over. In June of 2001 I was already getting subscription money for my little "newsletter" (lol) and by September 2001 the first issue of The American Beagler was published. Except instead of a little newsletter, it was an 80-page magazine with color covers. I had 243 subscribers (all from here) on that first issue, and by issue 5, TAB had surpassed the subscription list of both BB and SPO Magazines, and this board had to be upgraded to what we have now.

It just caught fire, lol. There's no stopping beagle people.
