Looking For Stud/ 13" Black Tan

Post by FlyDeal »

I have been looking for a primarily black/tan FC Beagle 13" stud to breed a small 11" Buz bomb bitch. Like most folks I suppose I'm looking for line control, nose, confirmation, brains and good mouth. Aren't we all!! I've looked at the adds for Honey Buck, Wienhorst Linesman, Nips Little Otis. Being up in Maine, it's a long drive to watch a dog run. Hope some of you fine floks could offer some suggestions as well as some oppinions about the dog's above. :???: ;)

Postoak Little Nip Otis belongs to a friend of mine. I have run with the dog and he is for real. He has a chop mouth. Is quick in the checks. Medium speed and close on the line and in the check area. Best of all he is throwing some very fine pups.

Thanks for the feedback. I've talked to Jason in the past and he appears
to be very honest square shooter. I've heard a lot of good things about the dog. I'm sure you've seen him run solo. What does he have for a nose compared to your typical spo hound? (1 to 10 -- 10 being highest)Can he run a rabbit in marginal conditions without many losses? Have you ever seen his sire run? Have you seen the confirmation of Otis pups? Thanks for your help. Do you have an email?

Wienhorst Dark Linesman is a good hound. At the same kennel is a dog named FC Battlegrounds Pickup Truck. I have heard much good stuff about Pickup Truck, and more importantly, good stuff about his ability as a reproducer. Thats what I look for as well, the ability to reproduce as good or better than the sire. I have heard Uncle Buck runs good, but I have not heard such good things about his pups as I have about he himself.

Mark,
Please tell me more about your dog. Is it a FC? Are there pictures anywhere or can you email me a picture at ( guide@flydealflies.com ) Are you interested in selling the dog? What is the dog's sire and Dam ? What does he measure? Where are you from? Thanks

I would think twice about breeding breeding to Linesman. Dave Wienhorst lives a few miles from me and he told me after he sold linesman he got him back for the summer and he bred linesman something like 86 times the short time he had him. Now the only info I have is the trial results in Hounds and Hunting and I did see some of his offspring place last month or the month before but besides that I haven't seen many of his pups placing. Now I had a direct sun of linesman and the mother was a FC also, now this dog ran good, nice check dog and used it's mouth right BUT it had NO HUNT and would lay at your feet until the other hounds got a rabbit up. Needless to say I got rid of him. Just my opinion.

Flydeal, I am curious as to why the dog you choose must be a trial Field Champion??

Black and Tan Stud

Post by FlyDeal1 »

Darrin,
I must say that's a good question. I have seen some superb hounds that never saw a judge that I would love to own. Unfortunately, I usually try to keep one or two pups out of a breeding and sell the rest. I have found that a reputable FC stud helps with the sale.

Joe, I received the picture and answered your email with a few questions that I noticed that you answered on this message board. Nice looking hound! Is Blake the Sire? I'll try not to tie up this message board and continue to communicate with you by email.

I have a nice little black and tan Buzz Bomb bred bitch out of Nicky Buzz Saw. She's only 11 inches but with nose, hunt and ability that I have found difficult to match anywhere and really would like to get a similar bred stud to breed. May even consider buying a dog. I have found that this board is viewed by some great breeders in the buzz bomb country.
