A general forum for the discussion of hunting with beagles, guns, clothing and other equipment and just talking dawgs! (Tall tales on hunting allowed, but remember, first liar doesn't stand a chance)
Its been a long long time since I have posted on this forum. Years actually now that I think of it. I often think about my old beagling buddies and what they are up to. The sport I fell in love with at a young age allowed me to meet and speak with some great people over my time in the beagling community. People with a wealth of knowledge always willing to pass it along. People I know I could always sit down and have a cold pop with around a camp fire, people that I know are hard working dog loving folks like myself. We decided about five years ago to get into big hounds and coyote and cat hunting. It has been an adventure I must say. One that I never have regretted getting into. However as my son gets old enough to hunt he still seems to find it more enjoyable to chase small game. He is much like I was as a boy. I loved hearing the beagles music as they started to make their turn on the circle knowing they are headed back my direction. The anticipation and searching with your eyes for any little movement of where your game may be coming from was almost to much to take at a young age. I often think today that it was my addiction. I am thankful that it consumed me at a young age because there are a lot of evils in todays world. Hounds, Hunting & Family have been dear to my heart for a lot of years. I'm hoping maybe just maybe I have helped my son down a similiar path. This is a proud moment in a fathers life. Way to go Peyton!!
Here is what I've been up to over the last few years
hounds... hare.... hunter.... bang... what gets better than that.

Smitty,
The other day, I was just thinking what had happened to you. Glad to see you are doing well and working on the coyote population. I went to the Big dogs for a time as well but they were coon hounds and not coyote. But when chasing them all over the country at night turned into work I can back home to my roots of beagles. Looks like your life may just head in the same direction. Good luck to you.

You were one of the good people I had the fortune of talking with and meeting once. Yeah we kept these two beagles knowing our boys were going to get to the age to hunt someday. The female is 10 and the male is 8 I believe. Both good gun dogs. The male is out of Ivy if you remember my wild stories about her. Still the best dog I've ever seen run a rabbit and I never owned her. Good hearing from you too... Take care

Congratulations on getting your boy on the right path, hope he gets the passion like his dad it surely will do no harm and probably make a better man out of him.
PM me your address... I would like to send your son my rabbit hunting video called Briar Patch Bandits II free of charge. I like to see our youth enjoying our traditions especially with their father.

Thank for sliming down the coyote pictures. I enjoyed your pictures.
Also take up Jason Schag's offer. This is a great video and shows some excellent dog work and good fellowship.
Andy your one of the ones I think about every now and then. Wondering why I never got out to see your Rambo dog go... Or better yet got any pups out of him.
