Nothing like a Patch

Post by reddog1 »

There's nothing like a Patch Hound to get the job done. My good friend's dog "Elvis" ran this Coyote for over an hour before he ran into my 55 grain balistic tip. I couldn't hunt last year because of a shoulder injury but everything is good now and it's good to be back in the game.

Awesome!

Uh, how far is that from where you rabbit hunt.

Can we take Elvis with us to keep the coyotes away from the rabbit dogs?

Man, that's awesome! Here's a question. How do you get beagles to run coyotes? Do you have to buy a line that has been bred for that or just start them on the scent from an early age? Nice looking hound by the way.

Steve, We don't need Elvis. If a coyote tries to bother the rabbit dogs we can just have Max eat him

That was a 40 pound Male that I shot.

Fleetwood, We chose the Patch bloodline because of their grit and stamina. We just start them on fox first and then switch them over to coyote when they get running good. My Mocha bitch is out of Elvis but I choose to run her on rabbits. My Lilly bitch is out of Elvis' brother Ozzy and he also runs coyote I run Lilly on rabbits only. Lilly's brother Ruger runs coyote When my friend Tom got his Patch hounds to run coyote non of the dogs he got were out of dogs that ran coyote.

Jim, Elvis' pedigree is the same as Ozzy's who is Cletus' grand sire.

Hey Chuck,

Yeah, he has the appitite to eat a coyote but he has been working hard this season at staying in shape to run rabbits. Check out these pics to see the improvement he has made. Ive been feeding him Jenny Craig and rabbit tracks.

Thats funny  but I don't think rabbit tracks will work for you.

You need to keep eating coyote tracks. :P
