Jimmie, take I-71 to 270 east (columbus by-pass) to State Route 161. 161 will turn into 36 at Coshocton, continue east on State Route 36 (about 6 miles east of Coshocton) to State Route 93 south to West Lafayette. At first traffic light take right on Main St go about 1 mile and Schumaker Farms will be on the left. Signs will be posted on Thursday.

Have faith Vicky. Mother nature is getting all the heat out of the way in July. Lol!!! Last years weather was AWESOME and we are hoping for the same this year. One thing about it is the weather is nothing we can control. That's what's neat about this hunt. It the whole atmosphere, raffle, show and fellowship among beaglers that sets this hunt apart from any other. Looking forward to it as we are working very hard to publish a schedule of events and lists of prizes.

I was wondering how the payout will work on this hunt. How many places will they pay? Also they said any money won wouldn't count in the regional standings but will it count toward a champion title?

Still working with PKC on payout details. As always top 4 dogs will get the most. Yes the money earned does not count for regional standings. The way I understand it is that any hunt with an added purse does not count towards regional standings. (I may be wrong). At first I kinda did not like that but then after giving it some thought I believe it is the fairest way.
1. Why should a hound that wins 1 hunt take over the Regional leader that has traveled to several hunts to earn the top spot?
2. Winning a hunt of this magnitude and payout should be prestigious enough.
3. Causes people that are running for the overall of thier Regional to keep traveling and supporting clubs.
4. The Regional winner is designed to award a hound that is consistant all year.
These are just my thoughts and I hope I am right with the way I understand the Regional series. If things hold true with those who have called then the payout at the Memorial will be HUGE!!!

It's true, Dave, the top four dogs are awarded the most money in any of the large PKC Hunts. then it's the club & PKC's choice to decide on how to break down the added purse. The majority will mainly go to the top, but it helps to break it up so the lower ranking winner's get a share as well. I'm sure this will be decided upon, before hunt time.

For those of you who haven't been to a PKC hunt or have no idea of a regular pay-out. Here's a copy of the $25. chart. You can see how it changes with each entry level. So it will be a nice pay day and don't forget the added purse will be above these $$$$$$$$.

Also, if you're a PKC member & dog is registered you will be invited to the PKC Nationals. This is another Hugh hunt to attend with only the top few dogs invited. With another nice pay day. [/color]
I just wanted to bring this to everybody's attention.

The Regional standings are kept for thetop dogs to earn their spot to compete for the money earned throughout the year & held in escrow in each region, the top dog in each gets 20% & the remaining 16 compete for . The winner advances to The Nationals. So there you see - there's good sport & Money involved in The standings.

Look forward to seeing you. Dont forget to enter the show also, this will allow you to be elidgible for the Total Dog award. Every year someone says "I wish I had entered".
Total Dog award is given to the hound that does the best in the show and hunt combined. We have a point system that awards points for both, including just for entering. The points are set up to give a higher value to the hunt portion than the show. A hound MUST be entered in both to be elidgible. The winner is awarded a embroidered coat as well as other prizes. Alot of times the winner of the Total Dog award was NOT the overall winner of the show or hunt.
Just a little quirk added to make this hunt unique.

We look forward to this hunt being a PKC hunt. It will be different for some people & alot of people of really looking forward to it. The main thing is for everybody who hasn't been to a PKC hunt, to learn the rules, and we are going to have a rules seminar Fri. Evening to help people understand things a bit more, if you have any questions. The rules are online also so you can get a head start if you haven't had access to them before.

We are excited to see how much fun this hunt will be & so much sportsmanship is always involved in all the PKC hunts.
Because- everybody has a say in what's happening in their casts & has the opportunity to speak up & vote. If you have thought about trying PKC, then here is the perfect opportunity to come on out & give it a try.

A great hunt, with lots of entertainment, friends, great prizes to win & Major cash to win ! What more can you ask for?
