Re: Decline in ARHA
I spectated at a little pack hunt a couple weeks ago and had never been to a rabbit trial. I had a blast and that's all it took! I am hooked I have hunted beagles all my life since I was a boy but never really had an urge to trial. I am 27 by the way lol I am looking to get a dog going as my male is a little to slow! I hope to get into as I have two you g girls and I want to pass this on to them and get them involved they really like running dogs with me. I know there are good times and bad in everything. I hope it's as fun as I think it will be looking forward to the next trial!!!!!

Re: Decline in ARHA
OK holeshot here goes. There is nothing wrong with people who have spent there hard earned money blood guts and tears in this organization to want it to be better. This is why it is fading because you have to many people stuck like chuck and as soon as somebody brings a suggestion to the fore front it gets shot down. And you know why people dont go out on there own with there ideas lack of money and the fear factor of failure. And everyone u thanked I have thanked also but only one as put his money and took the chance and that is everett morgan. Ron Eades has nothing to lose his money is not invested in the business side of it. The love is invested as is everyones we just see a end coming and sometimes when on the outside can see better then the people on the inside. I could not begin to figure how much money time and endless effort that I and JIM Mcguires of this great sport as put into this organization that I dont even belong to no more because someone got their feelings hurt because I pointed out some issues that they did not want pointed out. I have went out on my own invested and put everything i own on the line and believe me sir I do pay attention to want the people say that drop there hard earned money at my business. Because these are the people that can either make or break me. Please do not take offense to this post I am just being me and telling like it is.

mr miller i understand your concern comes from your passion for dogs and trials but i dont take offense to ur opinion but i do know that merle has been a friend of mine for 20+ years lives 15 minutes from me and i prob know more about the history of arha than you could even imagine i have watched the videos of the bylaws that most people dont even know exist ive heard the stories bout the rules being wrote in an old camper with merle, everett leon buford and few others amd if you think merle didnt have anything invested your nuts he spent more time and money in phone bills talking back and forth than u and i have spent in entry fees and gas money last year so what i take offense to is listening to evbdy talk bout how bad it needs changed when i know how hard these guys worked at getting it started.i have no problem with you or others suggestions but it is ultimately dels baby and his descision is final like it or leave it little pack is its own animal and was set up that way but a watchdog commitee and e-board are useless if the man that owns the registry barrs you from registering a dog and that is his right as owner of nkc.you are young so be patient and dont say to much and ruin your chance at getting back in you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar and we know how sweet you can be lmfao this is my last post cuz i hate to type but i would talk for hours if u want .1-217-690-9119 ps.i to recently got a butt chewing for posting my thoughts on here so i may be running pkc with you some day cuz my mouth dont stop sometimes

Hey Man ask Merle if he remembers Codys Sharp Mikie . Ask him if he remembers us standing on the big mound in the mines the day Booger Red ran against himholeshot kennel wrote:mr miller i understand your concern comes from your passion for dogs and trials but i dont take offense to ur opinion but i do know that merle has been a friend of mine for 20+ years lives 15 minutes from me and i prob know more about the history of arha than you could even imagine i have watched the videos of the bylaws that most people dont even know exist ive heard the stories bout the rules being wrote in an old camper with merle, everett leon buford and few others amd if you think merle didnt have anything invested your nuts he spent more time and money in phone bills talking back and forth than u and i have spent in entry fees and gas money last year so what i take offense to is listening to evbdy talk bout how bad it needs changed when i know how hard these guys worked at getting it started.i have no problem with you or others suggestions but it is ultimately dels baby and his descision is final like it or leave it little pack is its own animal and was set up that way but a watchdog commitee and e-board are useless if the man that owns the registry barrs you from registering a dog and that is his right as owner of nkc.you are young so be patient and dont say to much and ruin your chance at getting back in you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar and we know how sweet you can be lmfao this is my last post cuz i hate to type but i would talk for hours if u want .1-217-690-9119 ps.i to recently got a butt chewing for posting my thoughts on here so i may be running pkc with you some day cuz my mouth dont stop sometimes

Holeshot u r right it is Dels baby but believe me and i am sure you know this too Evertt Merl or even Ron did not every run or treat people like Mr. Del Morgan has and sir i only wish i was as young as you think. I too started in this ARHA in the late 80s and meet Mr. Evertt Morgan great houndsman I sir have never seen Del at a hunt competing there for it is hard for me to believe he understands where I am coming from. We took 2800.00 of our clubs money and gave away a dog trailer to a judge who judge the most rounds at the little world another 500.00 to judge that judge the 2nd most rounds and our club still made money. And sir can ask anyone where the most money was paid to judges and it was not the world hunt it was southeastern ohio beagle club. We put on countless Big Five Hunts and State hunts for this organization and i judge countless rounds with no pay at all while handing my dog off only to get beat by a strike because the handler did not know my dog. Yes Everett Merl and even Ron has that coming but they r not running the show and sir you cannot tell me that it has not suffered since the organization has changed hands. Its run like a dictatorship and we all know that that form of government does not work and all great empires fall. Shame on the people that allow that to happen.

Re: Decline in ARHA
Good question, wondered that myself. I am gonna guess and say 300000? I maybe way off though.Brings another question what all do ya get with the registry? Let's just say we meaning a group of guys bought it. What are the returns on hunts meaning entries ,membership and so on.

Imo...The returns must be good enough now to keep things running or the registry would already be under. Get the wright people to make the wright changes Then entries will be up And if entries are greater then so are your returns...... I guess it really doesn't matter though. It has to be for-sale before you can buy it.

Re: Decline in ARHA
For much less, you could start you own registry and have your own field trials run like you want them. Trophies are cheap. Tree dogs, and squirrel dogs, many to advise you and share spaces with you other than ARHA beagle trialers, Some of them would join with you. All are never happy with how anything is run so some or many of them would join with you quickly. Seems solving the judging problem so many folks are complaining about is the biggest hurdle.
After all this is not science, it is, when cut to the bone, just a bunch of beaglers getting together and enjoying the company of others with the same interest and friendly competing to win some prestige for you and your dog and a dust gathering trophy. Pretty easy to duplicate and replace.

Everybody has good dogs, and nobody likes to loose. Go have fun show what you got and enjoy your self. Over the years i have made a lot of friends in a lot of different states that would not have happened otherwise. When you get greedy you start to cheat and then it is no fun anymore. Get out there and make some new friends and have a good time.

Re: Decline in ARHA
I think a lot of theses comments show there is still a lot of passion and good feelings about Little Pack. I just hope something changes soon to turn things around and get it moving in the right direction again.
