Re: straw in kennel
I don't like straw or hay, seems to cause extra irritation and scratching.
I use pine or popular shavings. Some people use cedar, but I always wondered how it would affect their nose.

Re: straw in kennel
Straw is the best in my opinion, wheat straw. I shy away from oat straw because some dog break out and loose there hair useing it . Just my 2 cents

I use hay, straw seems to brake down it's hollow and when it flattens out it doesn't seem to do much.
Re: straw in kennel
I use straw in the winter and cedar shavings in the summer. Dogs don't seem to have any issues with either.

Their is only one type of hay and straw suitable for dog bedding! Thats pure orchard grass only! It will keep them snug as a bug and dont break down like the.other stuff!
