How bad is this?
As most of you know im working with 2 pups that are 11 months old. I have been working with them since the day I brought them home at 8 weeks old. This morning a deer jumped my 6 foot chain link fence and was stuck in the yard with the dogs. Apparently the dogs ended up killing the deer before my wife could get them in the house. My question is are my dogs ruined and will they be looking for deer from now on or can they be saved? This seems to me to be the worst possible thing that could happen at this point in their training I feel sick to my stomach with all the time and money I have invested in them for this to happen. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

Your beagles killed a deer?? Wow!! That's amazing.
They are still young. I bet you could fix the problem, even if their is one.

it's not bad. a few years ago i had two of mine take off on a deer, ran it into some guy and he shot it. when i got there he was petting them up telling them what good dogs they were. it only took two treatments with the collar and they were fine. don't be sick. stay with it. you can break them. its half the fun.
Re: How bad is this?
did the pups kill it by there selves or was there more dogs

They are not ruined, you just need to get a good e- collar. Use it wisely and they should be ok

Yes there was one other dog with them it was my black and tan beagle. DNR came to the house and gave my wife a tag for the deer. I will be burning up the shock collar tonight
