likeem' I think you are correct on that for the most part. If it were legal In West Virginia to give Rabies shots without using a Vet. It would and is extremely rare for any of my hounds to see a Vet. Most will live their entire lives without a visit to the Vets. office for anything other than a rabies shot. Worms are kept under control with the proper medications, and hounds are exercised and fed properly. this will keep the immune system up. I think a lot of folks let their hounds get run down and next thing you know they have health issues, they start trying to feed and house them better at this point and then claim they were being properly cared for all along, but they know better! The damage is already done. I am also suspicious of the man who constantly has health issues with his hounds, I generally know what that means! So I guess I really never wondered too much about it after all!
