Never heard of Charlie haper, he must of won every trial he has been in, or you are running him with 10 week old pups.

Thurman's Doc was in a four dog cast at the Oklahoma state hunt and won 160 to 0,0,-10. It was as plain as day everyone in the cast seen the race and agreed with the judge.

Gb lysa on 4ft of snow. Nose and foot won't do any good that day. She was able to swim and plow for the whole pack. It was very easy for the judges to judge because the pack run in a straight line following the plow machine (lysa). I don't know how a bitch that small could swim on snow like a man in water. Best snow plowing/swimming I ever saw.

Greg,

Some judges struggle to give a FC the win because they are already finished. One of the judges appologized to the handler after the trial. If someone feels like I cheat or make a bad decision they are free to let their voice be heard. Truth comes out through time and guys that field trial with any regularity know what right looks like. Truth of the matter is I have taken some harsh criticism on my judging before and once I swallowed my pride it made me a better judge. We all make mistakes but on this date and time Tyke was putting on a show for everyone to see !

I have a 1995 copy of Better Beagling magazine with F.C.Branko's Silvertone Belle [ full littermate to Branko's Ali-Baba ] on the cover.
Also have a 2001 B.B. cover of F.C. Maravic's Blue Barry [ Belle's son ] and in the write up it was stated that many in the Mid-West Assoc. considered her to be one of the best they'd ever seen run a rabbit.Have her blood in some of my dogs today.Wish I'd been able to see her go.

Lappin packs hmmmm! I can honestly say that's a first for me too the stories keep getting better and better!! Well I once sat in for a set with Motley Crew while Tommy Lee banged this chick in the dressing room and when he finished he came back and tagged me in then I took care of her friend which later became his wife Pamala Anderson. later that night we bungee jumped off the empire state building it was epic!!!! Sire Mike Musgrave!

I have seen quite a few dogs absolutely dominate a pack, I mean really tore things up,---- of course they all lost too. I wish the judges would just ask the handlers what the hell is going on and be done with it. While I am at it I just as well reference another post and say that I have seen some dogs really run the front and were unbeatable------ when ran against pure junk! Most don't understand the lack of value of a poor measuring stick, and even less can recognize one!

Ron, I would take him up on this. I think this may be Transmans farewell Fall tour as he is "selling out" and Beagling isn't fun for him anymore. It may be something like a Bon Jovi farewell tour so should be a good show. Will probably be a most dominating performance that we can add to this post at that time.

transman63, I wasn't referring to your post but I see how you thought so, When I said I would reference another post I meant to say reference another thread, it was the thread about the ten best hounds or however it was worded. But I will give my opinion, since I am already here! Most folks have different ideas of control same as they have different ideas about speed , It is an extremely rare hound that can run with speed and control but it gets talked about so much that some if not most will feel as though they haven't seen much if they haven't owned or at least seen one, So they "see" one, it's that simple. Kind of like a hound that can consistently turn it on the rest of the pack while moving full bore down the trail , extremely rare and most will spend a lifetime watching hounds and never see one, but it gets mentioned so often most believe they have to " see" one since everyone else has saw one. While I am on that subject I ran with a Viagra bitch just two days ago my hound is a young hound and he was certainly over-matched but on the only sighting of the rabbit which was running down a straight path and then making a hard right turn the Viagra hound continued straight while my hound turned it perfectly, running at a pretty good clip. What does that mean, absolutely nothing , he is certainly not a cut you from behind type of hound and he had no problem following her around all evening , ( it was a good steady run ) he just got lucky and as houndsmen we need to be able to recognize such things, and not call them for what they are not, and understand that a single instance does not a dog make! There are four of five myths or near myths that have been repeated so often that we have come to believe them without letting true actual field experience guide us, especially if an " old man" happens to tell it! I kinda got off subject, back to your hound to be honest with you I don't think your hound can run with what I would consider speed and do it with what I would consider control, not because I doubt your word in any way, it is because I know how rare that hound is, I think we probably differ on the definition of control,( remember the single instances and set-ups don't count) But you know what I wouldn't accept your challenge if it was presented to me for two reason who would be the judge and by golly you just might have one! How about some video footage? Once again no offense intended, I just try to give it straight!
