Nice looking puppies.
Imho, you have been very lucky with the heatlamp and the hanging cord. I've had two bad experiences so I don't take the chances any more. I made my own heatpad with furnace duct work metal, some 3" fiberglass insulation and a roll of heat trace wiring. I made a tray with lid that fit the floor of the whelping box, put the fiberglass insulation in and coiled the heat trace wire around inside on top of the insulation and put the lid on. There's a hole in the back of the box where the heat trace wire come out with a plug-in on the end of the heat trace wire. I just plug it in to a extension cord outside the box and the floor stays warm for the puppies. Just a idea I thought you may want to try.
Best of luck with your litter.
Thanks sr patch
Ive kept the cord tied up
But didnt notice it had fell down till u pointed it out
Ill have to fix that
There is actually 2 lamps in there
They have stayed really warm
So far so good
But i can see where there are plenty things that could go bad
Hopefully my luck stays good with them
Wormed them for the first time today
Really excited about this cross
