how can i tell if my dog has tape worms or any worm

how can i tell if he has them?
i worm my dog regularly with D-WORM (pyrantel) which i know will not take care of tapes.

what do you guys recomend?

I check my dogs stools when I have them in the field or if I am near when they GO in the kennels. If they have tape you'll see them if you check. They look like rice. If you worm regularly you should be OK. Dull coat is not a good sign either.

Tape break off into segments and look like rice in the stool. You almost have to be there when the dog goes (while it's fresh) to tell. Tapes are not all that deadly compared to other intestinal parasites. If you don't allow the hound to eat rabbit parts, and keep them free of fleas, a worming for tapes twice a year should be sufficient. I use Droncit tablets. They're kinda pricey, but as I said, you don't have to do it that often.
