Never seen 1 this color

We killed this cottontail this morning. He is what I guess you would call orange, I've seen white ones even down here in Mississippi but never one this color. Image

You were hunting in someone rabbit hutch, looks tame,,,, :D

Someone might have let there pet go and it bred with a wild one and then the mother had one that color lol.

Me and a good friend were running last year during the off season and he said the rabbit the dogs were running was yellow and we thought maybe someone turned a tame rabbit loose. Then during season while huntin the same farm I harvested the yellow rabbit. Thinking about getting it mounted.

Jumpdog It had a belly ring and tatoos.lol I've been running rabbits for 15 years all over the state os Mississippi. I've seen 2 white ones but nothing this color. Eric

we shot one two years ago this color and had it mounted !! they sure are once in a life time color ..

We call those rednecks here in Georgia. They make up about 70% of what we kill. The others look like your typical eastern cotton tails. The rednecks are a little small but run like deer.
