This is 2008 and The Big Short all over again, just different actors and different methods.
Watch the stockmarket...

Watch the money shuffle, or as they say "where the money flows". From the wake, the remnants of lives destroyed and fortunes made in the rigged game.
They always said to keep your powder dry, but today it's better to make sure your powder is where you last put it and hasn't been stolen... :bash:
Good luck to all.

Wrong again. I bet on me a long time ago. I actually know one is better than the other, even the candidates are different in the parties but I don't rely on the government or politicians or unions to look out for me because most of them are for sale. You are like so many leftist if you where half as smart as you think you'd be twice as smart as you are.

It's pretty much a waste of time to post here, I only wanted to warn of the market going down if any were invested.
China tried to reopen their market again today and it didn't last an hour before the volume shut it down again.
All the outsourcing offshore money is going to be worth alot less, fleeing hands should only make the dollar stronger so the exchange rate will kill them. I see money coming back home and maybe paying some taxes won't seem so bad...hummm
But alas, the dirty bankers are still not in jail so there is no faith in a system still corrupt.
We look to be entering a dead zone, no new up-starts with all this fear of deflation grabbing hold. Watch the contractions starting again, profits made while sales decline, down grades coming as the future shows the waning of cash buyers declining. The only way to turn this around is to go back to where we just came, free lending and increased debt.
It should be interesting.... I remember my grandmother telling about their first electric refrigerator. You had to put a quarter in the box like a slot machine and it would run for a set period of time. Every month a man from the store would come around and collect the quarters from the box. The money collected was how they got the refrigerator paid for. Once the money collected equaled the selling price of the icebox, they removed the "pay to run" contraption and you owned the refrigerator free and clear...lol
Again, good luck and a prosperous new year to each of you...

Now that's a good post Patch. I disagree only with the assessment of how to correct where we are. We have to stop giving away this countries competitive edge, we have to stop jobs and the critical information of those jobs from leaving the country. We have remove illegals and stop them from entering the country. We have to stop paying people not to work. We have to hold our elected officials accountable. There many things that have to reverse to save this country from continuing on the down slide. I t won't be an easy fix and it has most likely already went to far to fix. My guess there will be pain and lots of it.

Dave what I posted just scratches the surface. This country has a foreign trade policy problem created by both parties and a society entitlement problem created by the democrats. This society has moral and ethical problems created by both parties. The real problem though is the voting electorate. The electorate has become dependent, lazy, uninformed, uneducated, passive, self absorbed idiots.

We give billions to countries that hate us
We give billions to companies making profits
We give billions to illegals
We give billions to non productive leeches

Its no wonder Trump is doing so well in the polls the hard working middle class in this country feel betrayed by both parties and their right.

James don't get me wrong I blame them all. Your right until Trump brought up how these other countries are screwing the American tax payer it was par for the course for them all. I find it funny they come up with a book of government waste every year then throw it in the corner and do the same thing next year.

Dave one of the many reasons I am for Cruz is because he is anti establishment and the fact that he has stood up to them since Texas sent him to the senate.

Rabbit, you not paying attention, it is turning around... Want to buy a new car or truck? low interest and a 7 yr payment book will get you one, they're driving down the highways everywhere. I wondered how people were going to afford a $30-40 thousand vehicle, they just hang a 7 yr instead of a 3 yr. "pay to run" box on it and away she goes.
I read China is converting to a "service economy" from a "manufacturing economy" (sound familiar), so manufacturing is getting on the boat heading elsewhere,... who will make all the stuff we need(?)
They're talking about raising interest rates 2-4 more times, is it real or is the cheap stuff going to run out?
Your ideas and fixes are too limiting and constraining for a true capitalist global economy to operate, build and bust will be the future, with free trade the playing field is alot bigger, Corporations are people too, one dollar one vote,... poor people don't write the laws.
Stay with dividends until you see the manufacturing boat land ashore. Companies with low p/e ratio will survive or get bought out, either way you'll make some money. Corporations can only cannibalize themselves for only so long or notice the mergers going on now. After being with my father for 8 months I've seen health care and assisted living being big business but not near big enough for what's coming.
Good luck with your deductions and co-pays...

There ya go again off the rails. if your playing in the market your playing loose with your money. Its not turning around more illegals enter the country everyday, the government wants to bring people here that want to kill us. More people than ever on the backs of the working people. Companies continue to out source out of the country. More part time jobs without benefits than full time good paying jobs with benefits. Just watched another layoff right here at the plant where I work. There is no cheap stuff everything is just like your truck reference the financer just lengthens the terms and it actually cost you more. Too much dead weight.
