started pup question

Post by windyridge »

Will it do more harm than good to run a started pup with faster dogs? I hate to create bad habits.

Lots of times faster dogs will just pull him along; I run mine with older dogs which are faster some, but pups need to learn to run the rabbit themselves. Feeding off of other dogs he is not learning as much as doing it himself, but they need the competition from time to time as well. A dog can't get rabbit smart by letting the other dogs do it for him all the time.
Thanks,
Bob

My 2 cents.Watch the pup.If its struggling to keep up give it time to grow, mature, etc.Drop them with blazers you could blow them up.Im guilty of it
