And i guess I need to do charity hauling. It is not profitable to me to do it for any less. Going to kansas to pick up a dog and haul it to Nc. for $200 is pretty chepa. Tell me what airline you cna get it done for $100 anyway. close to $200 everywhere. Then you have to pay for a $50 shipping crate.
Thanks for the help the BJK in Va. I apprectiate it.

Power,
I have used ground transporting and air. I prefer air. If I have to pay $200 to get a dog, I won't mind paying an extra $40 (Walmart) for a crate. Just knowing I'm getting the dog in good shape (health certificate, required), and on time. Not to mention I'm getting it on the same day.
Just for the sake of conversation, if you hit the lotto for say 25 million. Would you want the entire 25 mill. now or would you like the state to issue the 25 mill. to you over 10 years.
Like I said, I prefer to receive and send air. Hey there are lots of folks that don't like planes. There are breeders and kennels that don't and won't ship by air. But that's my choice.
No offense intended.

You know Power, if you are traveling that way anyway, why not just take the dogs along. I have brought back dogs from MI once, IL twice and taken dogs from KY to WI once. Each time, I didn't ask a penny but that is just the way I am. Now if you have to go out of your way, then I can see charging that much money. If you are charging that kind of money just so you can make your trips for free... Of course, if this is how you are going to make your living I guess it is a different story.power wrote:And i guess I need to do charity hauling. It is not profitable to me to do it for any less.
Just my $.02

Power,
I have never gotten a hound via mail or hauler so I was curious, do you bring the pup right to the house? I do not have a airport within an hours drive of me and would not want to drive to that one because the traffic is nuts. If I did need one brought here I would consider 200 bucks well spent when you factor in gas, time and aggravation. Good luck with your venture, it is good to have more than one option.
