pup needs help

i have a pup that got its collar hung in my kennel /like to have cut it head off i got home from work and found it took it to vet. he said look worse than is give me a pill for infection and a powder to help dry it out any thing else that i can do if so please help me?

You could give it a half of a baby asprin for pain, but be careful. The asprin will mask any fever and you could wind up with a more serious problem because the fever is a sign of infection. If the dog is on Antibiotics, it should be fine. Just don't give the asprin unless you dog acts like it is in pain.

Don't use ANYTHING but asprin. Ibuprophen and acitimediophen SP? (Tylonol) is toxic to dogs.

You could try collodial silver, a homeopathic, to encourage clean healing and reduce pain.
