I did, and I ended up with mouthy dogs with huge noses. I had to get rid of all of them.

Iv'e got a year old bitch that is 2nd gen. Shorts Pro on top with 2nd and 3rd gen. Armando's Northern Tracker and Branko's Heli Prop on bottom side.I'm real happy with her so far. She's probably got the best nose in the pack.Hard hunt, very competitive.About med. speed, but hoping she'll get faster in time.

I finished a bitch out of FC Greenbrier Maravic's Simba and Short's PTO who is a littermate sister to Short's Pro, this cross has produced two FC's.

She had two wins in SPO on rabbit and a win in Large Pack on Hare. She placed at the 2004 AKC LPH National. Lots of places in both SPO R, SPO H and LPH.

When she is strong and inshape you wouldn't know she had an extra bark. I haven't ran her in a while, since hunting season and I took her out a few times recently and she had some extra mouth but I'm more then sure it will come out when she is good and hard.

If you have any questions on this ask Vic Costanza, he is changing his whole kennel by crossing his bloodline to Short's dogs.

I often wondered myself what that cross would be like.

KanesIrish,
That sounds like that cross worked real good. Where can a guy find the pedigree on Simba?

Chad,
Collars work great thanks. To answer your question get on maravics kennels web-site, you can see simbas ped on there, he's getting up in the age now, I have 4 ,7 week old pups out of him and a bitch directly out of haunted hill shaker X Maravic's Missy ( litter mate sister to blue ninja). I hope this turns out to be a good cross

Chad,
members.aol.com/maravic

you can see a pic and a pedigree on Simba there. He is double IFC mated from two great hounds.

Blue Ninja, Simba's father produced close to 50 FC's in 40 litters, a producing that is likely never to be match with another gundog.
