AKC Certified Pedigree

Post by Emery »

I just received a 3 generation pedigree from AKC for my beagle. It has the dam being younger than my dog. Is this possible??? And I had to pay money to get that. I wonder if any of the dates are correct.

Are you sure you are not looking at the date that she went into the AKC files as having whelped her first litter? It used to be kept up with by the quarter and year. It would be after the reg # (Q/Yr) I never use AKC for pedigrees but does it say DOB?

Now that you said that, I looked at the back of the pedigree and that is exactly what it says. I guess it is time to eat crow.

Emery,

I've made the same mistake. Personally, I think it would make more sense to list the birthdate.

There are some private suppliers that do list colors & birthdates for an extra charge.
