As far as I am concerned, any beagle that doesn't bring a rabbit around to a possible shooting postion didn't do his job. And, any beagle that fails to do this does not deserve plus points for failing to do it's job. I am against PKC's beagle program that has 2 sets of rules, one set for dogs that bring the rabbits to possible shooting positions for plus points, another that rewards beagles for running a track 100 yards and quitting. Craig, you really don't know much about PKC. I do know more about PKC than some folks, I participate in the coonhound and squirrel dog events as well as the beagle events. All the other PKC programs require game to be produced for plus points to be awarded except PKC Small Pack Beagle Rules. You can ask any Nite Hunter or any Squirrel Dog hunter if not requiring the game to be seen would completely change who the cast winner will be. To a man, I think everyone would agree there is plenty of false treeing dogs out there, just like there are plenty of ghost runners, trash runners, and babblers in the beagles. I am saying not having the game to be seen completely changes who the possible cast winners in a beagle pack also. This is an issue I have debated from day one. You and Steve didn't want me to point out the holes in PKC's Small Pack option. They are still there.
Craig, the bottom line is that no one is buying the PKC Small Pack rules and haven't for a long time. They have failed and it is time for PKC to realize it and come up with 1 set of the best possible rules to judge a beagle.

Let's debate the issues on the PKC Beagle Board and let the PKC Beagle members decide.

I am glad to hear you are attending UKC beagle hunts. Before, you didn't know the difference.
