Beagles On TV
Moderators: Pike Ridge Beagles, Aaron Bartlett
Pedde has won all of his Bench wins fair and square, has won all of his cast wins with the rabbit being seen and the cast being able to vote on the scoring, and no boy has beat beat Pedde on the bench on a entry fee I paid for.
Swing, my records show that you have never bought one of my movies, so it is unlikely you have seen any of them. It sounds like you have seen one of my clips over the internet. Due to the fact that in order to upload and for someone to download a file over the internet, the file sizes must be reduced which greatly reduces the quality of the video and the amount of footage you can show on a clip. The clip you are referring to was taken on a UKC cast where the rabbit came by 3 times and Cricket was out in front 3 times. The clip just shows the rabbit and the dogs once and not very good. You need to see the whole sequence, the clip does not do it justice. But, it is better than no clip on the internet. I promise to put up some better clips as soon as it gets too cold to hunt. Right now, I don't have time to go through the procedure.
I have a sequence on my latest movie where a young boy shoots a rabbit in front of my dogs. It is one of the better scenes in my movie, it came out real well.
Swing, most folks can make their own opinions. They probably know you haven't seen one of my DVDs.
Swing, put a video clip up on the internet if you are taking videos of your dogs. Let's let the people compare. Better yet, put some DVDs out before the public. Maybe you can beat mine but let's see them before you making your wild claim.
I am not saying my videos or my dogs are the best but they are good enough for a good number of folks to buy the new videos I put out after buying the old ones. Nuff said.

Hey Dave, what part of me not doing a very good video did you not understand.
I suck at videoing, Id rather throw lead at them, but like I said of what I have seen of yours, I did a better job than you did and that was when I forgot to take the video lens cover off.
By the way did you champion your Pedde dog or did you buy him already championed, I know we have had this discussion before but isnt all your champions boughten and not trialed by you?
And Redtick I am going to show you the rabbits

Ringtail;I cant comment on Redticks or Chris Millers videos as I have never seen them But I purchased one from Jason Schag once and it was very good.

I beat you on the bench at your club and I dont even know how to show a dog.But I believe in telling the truth so I will say that you do an excellent job of stacking a dog.As far as you only competing at a PKC hunt all that really means is you arent willing to put up your own funds in a wager. It is easy to go compete for money when all you have at risk is your entry fee.It is a little different when you can lose 1000 bucks. As I have stated before we will use PKC judges and PKC rules (hound and hunter)Why would it need to be a PKC sanctioned hunt?that is just an excuse to avoid the bet.
I guess what I am supposed to do in response to your constant comments against the ARHA is try to bash the format that you promote. The truth is ,that if I wanted to ,I could find something to criticize about every format.I prefer to support them instead.I enjoy competing in a variety of formats and associations.I wont make comments on any of your dogs accomplishments because as far as I know they earned them. However every time you raise your head to tear down the accomplishments of other people and their hounds I will be here to make my wager. I do it so people will realize you have no credibility. You know a little about hounds and taking care of them. You have something positive to offer. However you choose to do very little of that ,instead choosing to make your constant attacks.I remember when you had nothing good to say about PKC and UKC was wonderful. Then you got in to it with Todd at UKC and Steve Fielder left PKC and now you promote them(PKC).The wind seems to change depending on who you are mad at.My offer was to make a bet on either PKC Hound and Hunter rules or UKC hound and hunter rules. These are your preferred formats.I even offered to come up and run in your part of the country.I have offered to bring Lynn and his dogs up.I mean you say that their accomplishments mean so little why would you be scared of them? You see I try and run in alot of different formats. That way I know what type of dogs it takes to win in those different formats.Hell I offered to back Jimmy Abshire's Junie dog and I have never even seen it run.I will sweeten the pot a little for you and give you more choices. Will Mason has a dog that is called Jihad that is only about 2 years old(Will correct me if I am wrong about his age)I will back his dog with the same offer I made before.I have never seen this dog run and I dont even know if it has even been in a field trial.Surely you would be willing to run against a 2 year old that hasnt done anything in a field trial?.Finally I get down to my rock bottom offer to you .I have a half blind old dog(about 5 or 6 ) that is currently about 18 lbs over weight .I will bring her up and run against anything that you currently own using either the PKC or UKC hound and hunter formats. The only stipulation that I will make with her is that I will need a little time(1 month) to get her ready.Other than bring a dead dog to compete against you I just dont know how to make you any easier offers. We both think alot of Ralph Saunders. If we can get him to come down he can hold the cash.
Please accept one of these offers.I think we would have a big crowd show up to see this run.I think it would be fun.Even if you choose to run against the old fat blind dog, if you win, it would go aways towards establishing your credibility. You could get on every board and brag about it.My buddies would rib me forever plus I would be out 1000 bucks.I have made it as easy for you as I can.We will run in your country using the format that you choose(either PKC or UKC hound and hunter) I would think that we could find some acceptable PKC judges.Craig Tull has done more than most in helping to establish PKC so he could be one if he is willing and I am sure we could find another. The only thing that I will stipulate there is that the judges score the dogs. That way"handling" doesnt stop the dogs from getting what they deserve.Heck I was even gonna offer to cut off one leg on one of Lynn's dogs but he didnt seem too happy about that.
Finally you constantly mention all of your accomplishments in UKC beagling and also in the same breath talk about a line of beagles that you have raised for many generations. What are those dogs names that you have had for so many generations and what have you accomplished with those dogs. Please be specific as to names of dogs and the place and dates of the trials where you accomplished something.I am not calling you a liar but would simply like you to establish your credibility regarding the statements that you make. That ought to be easy for someone who has accomplished so much.
Thank You

JMurphy, forget it. I just spent $1000+ to buy a new computer and I am going to bet some folks will buy the movies I can make on it.
As for Craig Tull and PKC, he was one of them that had the worthless Small Pack rules implimented by PKC and then doesn't support them. They need to be deleted before I will go on a PKC cast. The dogs don't have to produce game to get plus points. As for Steve, we get along very well. He still doesn't know anything about competition beagling and took some poor advise. PKC has ALWAYS been about dogs that produce the meat, I can't understand why they would think beagles are any different.
As for UKC, I hunt in and promote their beagle events. I do think their beagle program manager does not go by their own rules. I guess he thinks he is above them. I do think that if his brother-in-law was not his boss, he would be fired.
I have up to 9 generations in my coondogs but I am not nearly that far along with my beagles. A dog I bred is on the All Time English Coonhound Reproducer's list. I hope to use the same breeding techniques to produce top beagles.
Swing, click on this URL to see some more video clips. There is a beagle clip, a Mt Cur clip, and 2 coonhound clips. Notice some of them have over 2500 hits. And, notice, I have some youth in one of my clips. Frances Gail and I do not have any children but I do what I can to help get youth out hunting.

Redtick,
The 2500 hits you have are from me trying to figure out if that is a dog in the video's or a clip of the locknest monster. And one other thing you didnt answer my question.
By the way did you champion your Pedde dog or did you buy him already championed, I know we have had this discussion before but isnt all your champions boughten and not championed by you?

Are you saying Todd Morgan cheats or what exactly are you saying in that comment.
You say you have 9 generations in some of your dogs, how do you get the dog pound to keep up with all the paper work on the ones that have came from there? The most paper work I have ever heard of them giving with a dog is paper work showing they have been spayed or neuterd.
By the way did you champion your Pedde dog or did you buy him already championed, I know we have had this discussion before but isnt all your champions boughten and not championed by you?
I know I have already asked that question once but I thot I'd ask it one more time so you wouldnt over look it.
And you need to take J. Murphy up on his challenge, if you dont he has proved you to be all mouth.
One more time.

Redtick, I just watched that video clip, if thats all you have to do, I will post some of mine and let people compare yours to mine.
I am going gunning tomorrow with a friend and I will try to get more of the rabbits being rolled.
I think people or I do anyway like to see some shooting in hunting video's.
I may even add a little comedy in mine,,,,,,Dogs that wont be for sale,,,,,, when I capture them running a rabbit but before the end of the day,,,,,, I may advertise them on the video for trade for a gun sling. LOL
I'll see whatelse I can come up with, this maybe a hunting with Bubba and Wilma tape. lol
I found a post on another board where you and Todd were showing pairs at some hunt or show, here it is.

I specificly asked about your accomplishments that you have made with this alleged line of beagles that you have have had for 4 to 6 generations.I have seen several of your posts mentioning them.I guess the real truth is that they dont exist and the only things you have accomplished are with dogs you have bought already running, with most of those already having titles when you bought them.Thats alright too,you just need to be honest about it.
PKC small pack rules dont even come into the equation.Just another smoke screen by you to avoid the bet.I offered to run against you with PKC or UKC hound and Hunting rules..If Craig Tull isnt acceptable to you I am sure we could find other judges. The real truth here is that you dont even believe in your dogs enough to run against a 2 year old or an old, blind fat dog.Hard to belive that a "professional Beagler" like you is scared of that wager.Heck I am just a guy who runs dogs every once in a while.Nothing that I have should worry you that much.If you wont even run against an old fat half blind dog you really shouldnt be talking about your great hounds on the boards anymore.I have a feeling I will show up.
If someone is an officer or even a part of an organization if you say they dont go by the rules, then isnt that saying they are a cheater. It sure sounds like it to me
I like how you carefully avoided talking about me smoking you on the bench at your own club.If you cant beat the truth just avoid it.
I noticed you never replied to Will Mason about talking trash about the Gambler dog and then having the nerve to call Earl Bruner and trying to breed to Gambler.Heck someone with that kind of nerve ought to be willing to make a bet.
Lets get down to the truth here.Have you ever even owned a beagle before cricket and the dog that you ran at the 1st PKC hunt that you yourself said ran trash and was gunshy but you sold it anyway?Isnt the real truth that you got into beagles a couple of years ago because it had gotten rough trying to follow coon dogs.Hell there isnt a thing wrong with that,I am a number of years younger than you and I dont want to follow them. You just dont need to go around saying what a professional beagler you are and how wonderful your dogs are and at the same time putting down everyone else.
As far as your videos go,I have never seen them so I cant comment. However I did make one once and I know its not easy.I didnt care for how mine turned out so if you can make one that is even halfway decent then more power to ya.
Well I have to get on some other boards and say how much I dont like Lynn's Lucy and Buzz dogs,After that I need to call him and see if I can buy a pup out of them.

I was reading a post of yours where you made the statement you were really "much more interested in Professional Beagling".What is Professional beagling?I know there is a pro fishing circuit.I would imagine there are some professional coonhound trialers because of the big cash prizes along with new trucks that they give away.I can see how a fellow could make a living at those.Do you have sponsors as a pro beagler.Do you travel an established pro circuit.I would think a pro beagler would make his living by competing his beagles. Is this how you make your living?I have been around beagles all my life and I havent been exposed to pro beagling.Even before we started trialing I had heard of people like Elmer Gray.Lew Madden and others but until I saw your posts on the boards I had never heard of you.Are you the only professional beagler there is?If not who are some of the others.I hope you can enlighten me.

Crane Creek Kennels
There is so much to answer to and so little space. First, I did call Earl Bruner about his dog but I never said I wanted to breed to him and I never will. For my purposes, there are better local dogs. I have never trashed any of his dogs, they seem to be doing well for him. I woner if they have ever been to any beagle event where the rabbit has to be seen before plus points are given?
As for Professional Beagling, I am retired, I am not a professional anything. I would say that anyone who competes under the Professional Kennel Club rules could be considered a "professional". I would like to see some Professional Beagling with large cash prizes like the Professional Coonhunters have with PKC.
I soon will be in the 10th generation with my coonhound breeding program and I usually offer pups that carry 4 generations of my breeding on both sides but I am not near that far along with my beagle program. But, I do plan on using the same techniques I have used successfully in my coonhound program.
As for any bets on what any dogs may do on any given day, I have been to too many competition hunts with some truely great dogs and seen them get beat by some mediocre dogs that just seemed to have some luck on that particular day to bet on the outcome of any competition event other than the entry fee. You guys set up your own bets, I am betting some folks will buy my DVDs this next month.
I have always owned beagles since I was a boy over 40 years ago. I recently started a beagle breeding program (about 5 years ago) and I am still building the foundation. But soon, I will be only using dogs I have bred unlike now where I still buy outside bred dogs. Heck, I am buying a nice 2 year old beagle bitch this week. She is AKC registered as well as UKC registered. I understand her sire has won some big AKC hunts. I won't hold that against her though. I won't use her if she doesn't have some traits I can build on. I hope to soon get into a 3rd and 4th generation breeding program but it takes a while.
I still coonhunt, I have been harvesting 3-4 coon a night and getting in plenty early to watch the 10 PM news. I will probably have some coonhound pups in about 4 months that will represent the 10th generation of my breeding program. I am into the 3rd generation of my Mt Cur breeding program, my next litter may represent the 4th generation of my Cur program. I am a "Professional Squirrel Hunter" I attend PKC Competition Squirrel Hunts.
You guys crack me up.
You guys are much too worried about me. You aren't near as bad as some of the coonhunters though. Now some of them are really JEALOUS. The Cur folks don't seem to worry about it too much.
