Id say my best all around dog in his day was "Weedeater Steel" He is out of Smiths Weedeater Drive X Tug River Cindy. He is linebred on the old Crains HH Brownie X KY Mtn Rudy cross. In his hay-day he was 13 inches of thunder on the ground. An old man used to say about him, that the little dog would grow in the weeds and make the big dogs get after him. Hes 10 1/2 yrs old and has the run of the place. We almost lost him a couple of days ago, but the vet says he may pull through. And if I know my dog, hes all heart.

The best I have owned by far is Shadycreek Boogity Boogity he has two licensed first places in the AKC midwest. He is a solid front end dog that knows where to come back and find the check. I would say he has a good snow nose... He is decent on snow and he has been gunned lots.
hounds... hare.... hunter.... bang... what gets better than that.

The best deceased hound I owned was Nr. IFC Kane's Irish Beach Bum. He was something special, he taught me a lot about hounds and a lot about competition. Just a great hound...quite the one to learn from.

The best current hound I have is either FC Great Bear Woody or SPO Fld. Wnr. Kane's Irish Beach Bum II. Both are just solid hounds with big noses and a lot of talent.

The best dog I ever owned was Rising Sun`s Jumper`s Zudi. She looked like she never hunted vary hard but she jumped a lot of rabbits. She was the best high scenting dog I ever seen. There was no quit in her and she would stay and find the line again after all the other dogs would come back. I seen when she was around 8 are 9 years stay on her feet after the rest of the cast was all laying down, after running in the real hot humid summer. The rest of the cast was all young dogs and most was from GA. Hickory Hollow Blue Bo was out of her and if he would of stayed alive as long as her he might of been the best dog I ever owned. There was no quit in him either and he was a supper jump dog and knew how to run a rabbit with speed and stay on the line. There only fault was that they opened up early. I think that was because of there nose. Zudi made it to the Progressive Pack Hall of Fame and I know Bo would have if he stayed alive a little longer. Bo died what he did the best and loved to do running a rabbit till it are him died and I think they both went out together . The rabbit ran up a 4 " pcv leach line with only one way out and Bos head was blocking the exit.
keep em runnin your friend in the bluegrass
