Why is no one sending in their Charters for NKC?

Looks like P.P. is all but out the door, all the clubs in Indiana and Ill., and most of Michigan have cancelled their P.P. hunts and have switched over to the new UKC format.
Sounds like it is going to be a big hit, hopefully we can change over to UKC out this direction.
Looks like Del Morgan is getting his wish of he don't care if they ever have another trial. LOL
I wonder what went wrong?

I think the reason some clubs are quitting PP is because they are fed up with all the BS that has been going on the last few years. I dont think all the clubs in Indiana are done, I think the one near Linton that started up this year, Erie Canal and Three Rivers are still having PP hunts. All the rest in Indiana and all the Illinois clubs are done. Ive also heard that several clubs in Michigan and several other states may be done too but so far that is only hearsay. I think everything will become more clear after the HOY race is over and the baquet and run offs are over. I think you will see several other clubs across the country slow down or completely stop having PP hunts in the next year or two. Ive heard a lot of folks say " Im going to wait and see what happens after the next election". I hope for thier sake there is something left by that time. I feel sorry for whoever takes the reigns this next go around. The guy I have heard that is getting groomed to take over isnt much better in my eyes that what PP has now but I guess we will see. Well I wont really see cause im done with NKC! Any owner of any registry that tells me "There could never be another beagle trial and it wouldnt affect my bottom line in the least" doesnt deserve my support and I havent had any respect for him and several others on the PP E-board for over a year or so.
Our club voted to not send in our PP charter for 2006 and they decided to go strictly UKC for 2006. I think UKC is a much better registry than NKC. The programs they offer for beaglers and all that participate in UKC is second to none.

I heard through the grapevine that ole mace thinks that the drop in the number of dogs is because all those LP guys finally figured out they cant stay on the ground in PP. Boy he sure has it figure out!!??

It sounds like that guy is out of his mind.Is he the one that said ,pp dogs should be slowed down,if so,that just shows he is not very smart when it comes to a good gun dog.

it looks to me like its set up for the people down south.It sure would be alot harder to win up north than down south.South has a few states then they group about 15 states togather,wouldnt it be harder for them.

I would think the North would be the easiest to win. Wisconsin and Illinois dont even hold PP hunts so that only leaves Indiana, Kentucky and Michigan.

The South has many guys who compete hard against each other in Mississippi, Tn. and Georgia, toughest region I would think.

The East is basically Pennsylvania, Ohio and N.C.......this should be a cakewalk for the folks from Ohio.

The West is Arkansas, Ok., Missouri, Kansas, this would be another hard region to place.

My thinking was more along the lines of lets suppose you and your best friend down the road together have 6 of the top 10 Champion dogs in the country.......too bad for 3 of them because they will now fall to the back of the list and some other cull will take its place and be invited to the run off. In my opinion this is a losers rule. Built specifically for those who dont have enough dog power to hang with those who have the top dogs every year.

dont say it should be a piece of cake for the folks in ohio. i have been running with the pennsylvaina dogs as well as the new jersey dogs (which is the state you left out) and they are great dogs and the competition is tough so it is open to anyone from any state with a true progressive pack dog. so please make a note of this and dont forget it the next time.

itsme......It has nothing to do with quality of dogs in NJ or Pennsylvania it has to do with logistics! Its a lot easier for a person from Ohio to travel to Indiana, or Kentucky or Michigan every weekend and run then it is for a guy from NJ to travel that far every weekend.

I don't run PP and did not know about the change in HOY setup for next year. Is this also the way LP will be done?
