Dog Box Plans

Post by GutShot05 »

Any idea of where to go for dog box plans? I'm looking to look at plans for a truck box and plans for dog houses for the backs of kennels or something similar...Thanks

I have built several in the past 40 yrs or so of hunting with hounds. I build mine out of 1/2 inch plywood. The one I last built was for my beagles to fit a full size chevy pick up. It is 18" high, 36" long and 46" wide. I put in a partition in it. I used 2" X 2" for the frame. I treat the wood with a good waterseal and then paint it white. Be sure to cut some vent holes in it also.

Gunshot i to have built my own like Richard mine is made up of 1/2 in plywood also 20ins high 49ins wide and 36ins deep. i made it where the top will come off for easy cleaning with hinge locks with 2 seperated areas with double doors. the hole thing after treated with water proof and hardware i might have $75.00 in it all and believe me it's a hole lot cheeper than $500 and you know what it works just as good. All i can say is a poor man just has poor ways.lol

:D I really like my home made box better. I had a fancy high priced box with top storage and all the other good things that most have on them, only thing was, I could bearly load or unload it as it was very heavy. That is why I sold it and built my own that is much lighter and does just as well for me.
