Mike,

Although carbs are processed for energy, dogs utilize mostly fat for their energy. Dogs process carbs and fat a little differently than humans do.
The evo is approximately 33% carbohydrate, which is very low when compared to other foods (which are mostly corn), but is perfectly acceptable. When you figure the 22% fat content, there shouldn't be a problem with their energy.

Bunny Runner, can you tell me how or why a food would be higher in Kcals/cup but less in Kcals/lb than other foods. Example is Innova adult dry 557 Kcals/cup, 1667 Kcal/lb compared to Black Gold black at 400 Kcal/cup, 1840 Kcal/lb. Is one food more dense, a cup compared to a pound. I'm just trying to make sense of all this. Thanks.
