Most famous dog of all time

Post by Craig »

If you were asked, who would you say the most famous Beagle of all time is? Regardless of format or reason for fame (wins, reproduction, year, location, anything.......) who would you say? Think back or in the present time and who has single handedly made the biggest impression on the beagle trial world over the years. No bad mouthing :bash:

I would have to say the most famous would be this one, because this is where it started.

The first Beagle registered by the AKC in 1885 was named Blunder. But this dog was no mistake because Beagles quickly became a top breed and have remained so to the present day.
To old to cut the mustard, you can always run beagles

I cast my vote for Ranger Dan. He crossed will with many lines and made some true improvements to several top kennels.

Snoopy duh!   All kidding aside and as much as I hate to say this, my vote is going to go with Anna's Ann. I know there are a lot of other dogs that are much more accomplished and all around better dogs and I know she wasn't the first beagle the Krpan's ever owned but she is the base for 99% of the stock coming out of that kennel and a large portion of othher kennels today. I have just heard too many old timers say how much the beagle trial world has changed since dogs started wondering south from Manitoba, and like the guy or not or his style of dog you have to admit as I finally did there are some great dogs coming down from there.

Being a rabbit hunter for 36 years.I would say in the early 90 s I had a grade female that was one of the best all around little dog.Sandy, that dog would show you a rabbit. When you can put a gun in your hand then you can tell alot about a dog.Had some good dogs and got some now.But nothing come close to her when it came to finding a rabbit.I recken the ? that comes to my mind would you sell every dog you got to have that dog.Yes I would.

Uno is a good one, never thought of that. My thoughts were Heli Prop or Turbo Powered by Prop. Who knows, in 10 years we may be saying Reggie?
