BAD about the cards ive talked to several ppl who say if they draw out with a person who never went under the stand that they was going to contest the dog just because they had to wait in line and that they feel anyone with a card knows they could be measured out. im getting mine cards, there measurements are 14.5 but its solly to do with the defrances in the guys measuring. defrant ppl getting up to an inch defrance on the same dog is just crazzy!
Fine by me. They can go right along with me with their dog and we can have them measured together!
My dogs are 13 and 14 1/4, so my bigger concern is being stuck in a measuring line at deadline before being entered, which is why I asked the procedure of measuring versus paperwork/entry fee. Thanks.

I agree with evec rything you said its not rocket science but lets be realistic was they trying to fix it or generate more revenue because of loss of entries. Just asking but ha we all know Del does not care about little pack and Ron and Fred would not travel if they had to pay just like the rest of us.

your right its all about the all mighty dollar! 8 more bucks a dog they thought and they only aproved one stand from a certian company,so there ya go, all about the money!
If you pay $8 for an "official" measurment card there should be no way you can be challenged at every cast. The rules are a joke, so why pay for an $8 card? The card should either be official, or every dog is measured at EVERY hunt.......UKC measures every dog unless it has been "officially" measured in and you dont hear or see people complaining! Guess what? The hunts start on time....lol
I dont see LP making it with PKC moving in. PKC is going to take over this sport, so get on the band wagon now...lol The McGuires have stepped up and added Large Pack hunts on top of HH hunts. One of the best trials i have ever been at! I'm all in for PKC.

just look at all the clubs entrys, every club around our part is suffering to get enough to have a trial. one great club here in eastern ky has shut down,3 or 4 more talking about closing up. you never hardly see more than 10 to 15 entrys in opens at any club round here and 3 to 5 in champ class, ive drove 4x now to clubs that was booming and they never had enough for a hunt.lp may not be going anywere as far as big 5 hunts but the club hunts are sure suffering! clubs that was getting 40 and more dogs just in opens not having enough for a hunt now. something is sure happening and its not for the better!!!!!!
The Little World had only 210 entries in 2011. The days of big numbers in Little Pack hunts seem to be a thing of the past. Let's see how many entries at the World Hunt in April.
I sold out to start really competing hard in dachshund racing....now this is real competition....running beagles is for girlie men....Real Men Race Weiners...

I personally think falling numbers has alot to do with all the different formats and options that are out there. When I moved to Indiana in 1997 the only thing that seemed to be around was little pack. 70-80 dog club hunts was the norm. Now days it is not uncommon for 4 or 5 formats to be holding hunts all on the same day all less than 100-150 miles from my house, and there be 20-30 dogs at every hunt. More and more people are not format blind. They are trying other formats to see how their dogs stack up. And I personally believe that a good dog can compete in any format. Times have changed and more and more people are not interested in a one format style dog. My advice to everyone with rabbit dogs is to branch out. Take your best to different formats. We all have our favorite formats i know i have mine, and some dogs excel in certain formats. Have fun and don't let a format own you.
Imo Rabbit hunting is the best judge of what you own anyway.

Little Pack might not go anywhere but do not be so sure. I am sure the man who had 20 years at his plant thought that to but never seen 21. Never say never or only u can be a the fool and u think a few people can not make the difference the right people can make a huge difference. And u state now the little guy may have a chance come on u r better then that never be little yourself if u want people to look at you in a different light. If u feel like this and category yourself as a little person how do u expect other people to see u.
