Last year I ran 7 days a week no matter 100 or 0 but was motivated a little. This year I have a few more dogs and have split them up in two packs, Only running 4 times a week and so each pack running twice a week.Oh Demon isn't thinking too much staying at home as I run the young dogs. Pulled up at Davids the day before yesterday and oh Demon had escaped and was across the road running. 100 plus temps. I thought to myself idiot. I listen to him try to run for 15 20 minutes and I thought to myself its time for the AC so I called him in and put him up and got back to the 70 degree ac. Last year I ran him right on but this year I dont think I will put him through that craziness. I do believe it helped him cause it showed in the hunts when he kept on hunting through the hottest part of the day

So actually you would have been the cuckler, aww fat girls need love to. The mexicans have just about sucked em all up in kentucky i dont blame em its a free citizenship and a interpator. Long as ya dont mind living in a trailer or a tenant house. I have got lots of mexican friends all pretty good fellas to say the least. I took a few hunting last year damnest thing i ever seen they dont hunt they herd rabbits. One of my better buds owns a restarant called El-Caminos.One thing is for sure they sure do know how to make drinks, I sorta was glad too see somebody to turn the heat up on Applebees every thing they serve taste alike not a fan of em.

EL CAMINO!!!!!!!! I actually had a El Camino, a 67 with a 327 and 4 barrel carb 3 speed on the column, positraction rear, with vinyl seats and no A/C, AM radio, there were a lot of hot sweaty rides in that baby in the summer. Miss those days!!!

Seems like there should be another choice. I don't like running in the heat and don't figure the dogs do either, but if you gonna compete in some of these summer trials you have to do it..
I try to run where there are creeks or ponds and solo so they dont push quit as hard and when tracks over they can cool down. Also got a few bird dog tricks to drop their temp. quick if they seems to hot. Me I look for a shade tree and a lawn chair to listen    oh yea no cuckholding, Im single..

I live in the deep south and do not run during the heat of summer, briars to thick, snakes to bad and gators to hungry at nite. I hope I am not repeating or stepping on anybodys responce but dogs have no sweat glands and I have kept a bottle of rubbing alcohol or alcohol pads in the truck for years. If a dog monkeys you can rub their feet with a swab or some alcohol on your hand and this will cool the dog down faster than any other method. Pour watering on a dog will just make them hotter. Be careful and take care of your hounds.

My buddy is a big time bird hunter, goes all over the us bird hunting and his hot weather tick is to rub coooold water on his male dogs bawls & then blow on them to cool them down , or atleast that the reason he said he does it but I'm not real sure about his reasoning there !! :-)
Hurryup that's your tricks ?

It's too hot here to keep the flies off your water melon. I'm gonna see if I can get somebody to try the bird dog trick on me.

with the heat and no rain here in central indiana it has been real tough to get out. I really hate letting the dogs sit but I have young dogs right now and I hate to set them up for failure or hurt them. So if there is a pop up storm in the afternoon I am at the woods waiting for it to slow down, normally for a cpl hours after the storm its a little cooler and good running. Mornings around 70 at daylight I will run for a couple hours as well but we haven't had any of those for a while now
