chapkos I run with the guy that sold her for $1000 all the time. If she was worth that he would've kept her in his kennel for longer than a week!!! Like they say another man's trash is one's treasure. The guy that sold her ran her with the guy who ended up getting her came out and offered that $ for her. Sad thing is u talk about packing all this heat in dogs but the 2 pups that ran with her are true 13inch hounds. Why would I sell em for when I can go compete with the 13in male class right now with yr old pups? doesn't make any sense to do that. I'm not in this sport to make money but to keep producing hounds that will put food on my familes table and can compete with in trials. You sold betsy cause your ftch female was putting a whoopin on her time after time. Its just a shame you didn't breed your sire n dam to get that ftch bitch. Anytime you want to come run in a midwest trial come down and see if a lot of these fc dogs aren't complete hounds.

As for my top hounds they would give ur 13s a heart attack there is not a 13 in the country that will out run these 15 and 16 inch hounds

I got 2 males and a bitch that can cover all 4 quilities of what I call a complete hound

How many hounds u ever get a grand for when showing them in the woods?
I keep records of hounds I raised it is over 400 from pups every bloodline under the sun and sold well over 200 running dogs and this is my first complaint and it is not even cimming from the guy who bought the dog. I do take a little offence because he dident give her a chance I just welped the bitch the week before he bought her

To sell 400 pups and 200 running dogs you should be bound to get something that can make a FC. I've had my share of over $1000 offers for dogs and its those kind of hounds I hold onto. I've been offered that for one of my pups after he made the handler of 2 15inch males pack up and leave after 3 hrs of running. I've turned down $1200 for their dam. I had a guy call me 3yrs ago that I didn't know and offer me $1000 for my 10yr old Hard Rock bitch just so he could breed her off of hear say about her. That same bitch I turned down a whole lot more than that on multiple occasions along with her daughter who was 2 at the time in which had a 1st and. A 2nd in 2 15 in classes both of which she measured at 13 1/8 inches tall just cause a few guys were lacking points to finish a couple of 13's so don't think there aren't any 13's that couldn't put a hurtin on your COMPLETE hounds but good luck trying to buy or breed ya one. let me get this straight I sold ur buddy a full15 inch line breed snapps dog that he doubled him money on but she was no good as ur 13 in 7 month old pups ran her in the ground
I dident say I sold that many can you read I olny sell the ones that fullfill steps 1 2 and 3
Altough I sold lots on this board and just u still talking
All I here is talk how many fc u got
I dont chace the ribbions I just like raising pups had many that would make fc but money talks and dogs walk.

Where I get my excitement is starting a pup and running it till it is 2years old
But if everyone breed complete hounds it would ween out the bad trait over time.

There are just always guys like u that like slow mouthy hounds yes I herd got 3 calls since this topic started ur all talk

Drop the 13 up here in michigan on hare with 50 + males see if it even gets out alive after he gets ran over by the pack. Seen big 15 get stampeeded

Chap, how many complete hounds have you owned?? You always bring up how others need to breed to complete hounds, so how many complete hounds do you have and how many complete hounds have came out of your breedings??? Most of your upcoming litters says "anyone interested"?? How many pups have became complete hounds out of your kennel??

Chappy I agree 1000% with one thing you said and that is you can't teach a dog to hunt but u can shock them in with the shocker I want a dog to go find a rabbit I can teach it to handle once it learns to jump rabbits

Casey I believe I have had about 10 complete hound most went oversized so I sold them I still have 4 two of them are males 2 are females one is a fox beagle. Yes I crossed 2 complete hounds for the second time. The first time I got a pup that is the best I have had in 5 years he is 7 months and can cover steps 1 thew 3 he has not cought a rabbit yet but can drive the front when he works his way thete.
If u would like to see them always willing to show them in the woods

I am no breeding exspert but I think people are just crossing pedigrees instead of breeding a dogs traits
When the old timers line breed they would keep the best and shoot the rest to ween out bad traits in there line. Now days if they are out of mr fc people think they automaticly have the traits of the dog befor.
In some cases it works but if dog out of mr fc cant even run and u breed it do to its pedigree are u breeding the traits of grandpa or are u breeding the trait of the dog that dont run.

When I was 9 I went to the pound and got a beagle that is better then most field champions. it was hard to find a beagle that could not track. now the market is flooded with

LOL this is why I can only handle so much of this Board at one time then it's time to step away for awhile again...

Better read your own post chappy. You clearly said you have sold over 200 running dogs. And let's clear one thing up for my last reply betsy wasn't sold for $1000 we will keep it as he sold her for a loss. No wonder why you can't get all the qualities you speak of for a complete hound when u breed bitches of that quality.

I got a call and a man told me ur so full of crap u run little hounds that are mouthy with little to no hunt he said u wo wouldn't know a good 1 if it was on your own leash

I believe him like I said u hit all them trials chasing them robbions but have u got a champ or even one anything

1blowdown the brush to find a rabbit
2work out hard checks 5 min and longer with out checking in
3after a bit bring the rabbit back in his mouth

why is it that people would rather have a fast hound that can run the front more than what they would want a complete hound. what I mean by this is the dog doesn't hunt good doesn't check good all they can do is get the front and go when it is hot.
I see more and more people breeding front runners rather than breeding their complete dog. I see dogs that the only thing they can do is when the rabbit is hot jump out front and run it. if they go into a hard loss they can't seem to work it out ever.
if a dog can't figure out a check. The race is dead.

A complete hound will not only jump the rabbit check the rabbit he will run the front and try to catch the rabbit.

That's not the case here. We're all breeding for the "Complete Hound". Smooth consistent solid running all day hunting machines that pound the pee out of a rabbit till the poor bunny locks up stiffer'n a board.
