Re: T-REX
A dog has to bark to score in lp i believe. I think where people go wrong is when they base success on ribbons and trophies. I rarely trial but run 2 to 3 times every week all year long. Even during hottest part of year. Im happy with my blood whether i have a wall full of trophies and ribbons or not. Wcb i got a direct rex female and a few line bred trex dogs you can watch run anytime you like and i promise you wont leave believing there lacking nose. Lol

Re: T-REX
I dont like a dog that opens way to early nor do i like it when they open 30yrds after you watch the dog jump a rabbit
you will probably get both these types out of t-rex lines just like any other line ! jmo . what you or i will or will not
tolerate in a dog is probably different someway than all the breeders in your dogs pedigree. careful selection and linebreeding
will help standardize what you get and want ! i see tight mouth and loose mouth in all the lines ive fooled with

Re: T-REX
Lol! Have you been to a LP trial lately? If you get drawed out in a cast with a mouthy ass dog, and you run a spot with a lot of rabbits, majority of times Mr mouthy will beat ya. Not because there a better dog than yours, but the way the rules are stated. If a dog barks 3 times, he got 3 min to produce a rabbit. If a diff dog moves rabbit out, mr mouthy prob getting strike pts just for being mouthy.WEIR CREEK BEAGLER wrote:yes i have seen the from 1st gen to 4 th like lawsonbeagles said they could go either way. they will hunt thats for sure i guess they are just a litte to tight for me i like a dog to bark it cant score if it dont bark i figured that was why you didnt see any of them in the midwest thay are more suited for little pack
Now if you run mouthy in a spot that is regular or no rabbits, y'all prob be going back to truck.
LP is fun, I really enjoy it. You can see a lot of good hounds in this format. I was always told it was set up for the gun hunter, but it's like everything else. It evolves as everything around it evolves.

yes ive been to a lp trial and i personally think they are a joke dogs cut and swing slash reach and all that junk and get by with it they should be picked up and put in the truck where they belong or in the dog pound if a dog cant run close to the akc rule book personally i wouldnt breed it or feed it but thats not the subject i wonder why these junie t rex dogs aint placing in the akc like the reggie shooter and shaker dogs

Re: T-REX
Why are you so worried about it wcb? If you don't like them don't run them. You like weir creek blood so run that. I typically don't worry about all the other bloodlines when I'm happy with my own. Thats the point right?
As far as placing in akc, how many trex dogs are being run in it? I believe junie and reggie finished in lp as well. That means there cutting swinging junk right? I know your just trying to get a rise out of the trex fans like you have on other post but really your points have to validity. You cant compare nose with trial success. If your weircreek dogs are finishing as akc champions like you like then why even buy dino or junie dogs?

Re: T-REX
You have an open invite wcb. Id like to see some good dogs run. Its been a while since i got to see a good dog run. Guess cause i run trex blood. I love watching a good dog run no matter the bloodline. I got plenty of rabbits you just supply the dogs. Late july or august is best around here.

Re: T-REX
Exactly what bloodline do you run? Junie stuff? Or T. Rex stuff?
You say your buddy's dog who has Reggie stuff will out perform yours. Reggie was also a LPRCH and FC. But you said LP was junk! Lol!

Jeff, nothing like a newby know it all. I will second your offer and top it with another. Come run with my lp hounds and we'll all see what you have. Or, you can just keep trying to start trouble.WEIR CREEK BEAGLER wrote:yes ive been to a lp trial and i personally think they are a joke dogs cut and swing slash reach and all that junk and get by with it they should be picked up and put in the truck where they belong or in the dog pound if a dog cant run close to the akc rule book personally i wouldnt breed it or feed it but thats not the subject i wonder why these junie t rex dogs aint placing in the akc like the reggie shooter and shaker dogs
I have run with a few Weir Creek hounds and was able to take a nap between each circle. Again, show me where a hound is suppose to run a rabbit close and clean. I think the obect of the game is to circle the rabbit. some like them slow and some like it fast. Only the formats dictates the style, noboby else.
If you don't like something or a certain bloodline doesn't mean you have to put it down.
BTW....In case you haven't noticed, I don't care much for Weir Creek blood. No foot, IMO
Have a great day

Re: T-REX
nope mr honddog not trying ti cause any trouble just trying to find out more info on this line and i think ive found it out and yes reggie is a plch it shouldnt be to hard for a fc to become lpch seeing they would clean up all the messes that the other ones create by over running lp style dogs they hit and miss too much for me as you can see i dont care much for back yard buddy cant run a rabbit without constantly loosing it arha little pack dogs but as far as this threrad im done because ive found out what i wanted to know
