whelping boxes

Post by Thornbusters »

does anyone have a set of plans for building whelping boxes??

i have seen some boxes but not any really good views of them..

i would like to build a couple of them as opposed to buying them for the cost difference...even though i really do like the seneca boxes

yes cain i had seen that and its awesome....i was wanting just a whelping for now though as i currently have 2 10' x 10' pens that i wanted to put whelping boxes in....

although if everything works out well the next off the ground kennel me and my buddy build we will use a pup(short trailer) to have the boxes in and be able to incorporate something like your design inside for whelping boxes....but that is down the road a little :D

Aluminum on the inside and out with 3/4" insulation in the middle.

I'm gonna check into one of those. I'm in the process of getting a whelper from Ron at seneca and one of them pads is almost a must for pups up in our neck of the woods. Thanks, Pat

I just built one and I would say it's cheaper to buy. I have $75 in wood and haven't even priced the metal yet. I can buy one from Millcreek for about $260. In the end I may only save $50 in material and add in time and I'm in the hole.
